white items & cube help

Right, so I have been doing some research and whatnot, and I can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere I look. I know I want to make an exile, but what I want to know is if there is any way to upgrade white items in the cube. I know that if you roll socket an eth armor in the cube, it ups the defense and gives you sockets.

I have never made an exile before, but I can assure you I wasn't born yesterday and know a few tricks...just not this one.

maybe a better question would be to ask if there is a formula to put a normal level white item into a cube (eth crown shield 55ed/104 AR) and upgrade it to the exceptional version of the item (royal shield) the way that you would a unique or a rare item.

If there is such a way, and you do know of it, please send the information my way! it would really be appreciated.

Arreat Summit doesn't tend to hide cube recipes. The recipe you seek does not exist as of 1.12.

Nope cannot upgrade white or magic items as of yet. Any other recipe for rare or unique upgrading is listed in Arreats Summit. And there shouldn't be imo or it would be way too cheap. It'd be easy then to find a 45 res Targe which I frequently do in norm or nm and upgrade to ST.
