Trouble Saving In Hero Editor

I have recently started playing Diablo 2 again and I felt like doing some hacking on Hero Editor. I reinstalled Diablo 2 on the same comp with the blizzard client thing. I have used hero editor on the same computer before without any trouble, but now I can't seem to save my characters...all I get is an error message saying
"Problems encoutered when trying to save character to file. Unable to delete original fil. Make sure file is not read only and the character name is 'legal'"
I checked to see if the files were not read only and they were not...I am using version V1.03 and playing d2 on v.1.12
any ideas on how to fix the problem? Thanks

try rolling back to an older version of hero editor.. Sorry thats all i can think of.

I don't think that will work because I had the same problem with the older hero editor version I had before, the reason why I downloaded the latest one.
