Define "item hacking." Do you want to change the stats of items? If so, this can only be done in single player/Open B.net/tcip (all which have you store your character on your own computer rather than a server). Check out Hero's Editor if you want to do this (there are guides to help you and whatnot).

However, if you are trying to edit your item on Closed B.net, this is not possible because the files you'd need are stored on their servers, not your computer.
