Brute forcers do work in D2 just not well at all.Look if you really want someone's password download a trojan maker and make one that logs keystrokes and sends the data back to you. Upload it online and somehow get him to download it and HOPE he doesnt have a virus scanner. Brute Force has a list of words/numbers/letters that it uses to find out a password, so assuming he used a normal password that would actually be in that file.... You would let it run and it would try those passwords. BUT as we all know if you try to log onto and account on D2 too many times you get a "your modem is not responding" type message, stopping you from accessing d2 for a while. When you finally get back on like 10min later it will try another 5 or so and get kicked again... adding the 10 min. for about every 5 passwords it tries AND the time it takes to connect (you would have to click connect to battle.net on your own) It would probubly take you about 3 months to get through the list and to figure out that his password was not in the list... I'm not trying to be so negative I'm trying to help you. Like I said your best bet would be a trojan (that cannot be detected) that logs keystrokes and sends them to you... good luck with this.

Brute forcing takes too long, and you probably never succeed in it, if the password is good enough. ASCII is almost impossible to find out, with brute forcer.
06-10-2004, 01:41 PM
okay. i guess i give up

lol i looked at a old b.f it wont work cuz it send the password to the owner who made it lol he just wants many people to run it for the highest chance to get a account so its so useless to run one you wouldnt even get a benefit...
