speed up pickit??

is there a way to "speed up" the pickit. as much as i love leechers for my leveling and all my pally jumps around kills all the monsters in a radius and then goes and picks up thus giving my leechers a chance to get them. anyway to make him get them when they drop?? before my precious leechers get them?
