I have a level 60 Fissure Druid. I've maxed Fissure (actually more because I have a +2 to fire skills) and volcano (but not firestorm, which I realize is a synergy). I have 1 point in Grizzly to act as a tank (though in NM he's really just enough of a tank to act as a temporary distraction). So far no real problems running the fissure druid except with extremely fast monsters.
No skill charms have dropped yet, but I'm filled with resist charms. Equipment (except for Druid helm) is pretty lacklustre, Stealth in Gothic Armor, Cathan's set (whole set) for resistance), the sword is socketed for additional poison, but really this is a casting druid.
I've tanked vitality, over 200.
Anyway I'm coming up to Ancients in NM and I've read from most that you want to be around level 70 before tackling NM Ancients. I haven't played in a long time, so I don't remember if NM Ancients have resists. Any suggested strategies against NM Ancients?
The FissureDruid seems to be good against most enemies, but I had some trouble against Diablo, and when initially playing in Normal Baal proved much more difficult than he did against the Assassin I had.
