i click on "auto detection" and it tells me "loader does not exist".

Use the "..." manual pathing. Likely cause of auto fail is your Diablo 2 folder being renamed, inside another subfolder or not in your "C:\Programs\" directory folder. Either way, manual finding is not hard.
