Zonfire Hero Editor Problems
#1
Could someone help me out?? When I make a new character to edit on Zonfire Hero Editor, it loads a little, and then all these error messages pop up like Unknown Stat found : 21, 44, 192, 16, and 508. Also, trying to process Item 'Lesser Healing Potion', type code = 'hp1', with unknown format. This item will be deleted from character inventory. And then, all these other error messages. Could someone please help me out? Sad

FIrst have you gone online and got the new 1.10 patch? And if you have are you running LoD or Regular D2? One more thing, do you have the new editor available on this site? Answer me these questions and I'll try to help.

You have several options. You can re download the patch and the Editor or you can open hero editor go to options and turn off all error messages. If you choose the latter option you run the chance of getting generic file errors when loading your characters. If you do turn off error messages to load your character and it works, reapply the error options when you save your character file, I have found that this usually protects you from Generic File errors good luck.

If Hero Editor is giving errors when trying to read your character file Stats, then probably one of the following is the fix:

1) Hero Editor usually requires that you are using an English version of Windows. Make sure that you set the "regional and language settings" to English. In particular, make sure your computer is set for single byte letters, NOT multiple byte letters. (NOTE: I have never had this problem, but others tell me this solved the problem for them.)

2) Make sure the character files are V1.10 patch. Start a D2 V1.10 game, and load then save each character. This will convert each character and its items to V1.10 format.

BTW, the newest version of Hero Editor is V0.82. The only bug that I am presently aware of with this version is the code to prevent over socketing (i.e. more than 7 sockets filled) seems to not be working. So, don't fill more than 7 sockets, or your character file WILL be corrupted.

May I know how to change my computer settings to single btye letters instead of multiple byte letters?

Thanks

As I said, I have never had the problem, so I am not sure about how to fix it.

However, I have heard from others that Hero Editor doesn't presently support multi-byte character sets. This causes some significant problems on non-English versions of windows, especially versions localized for Pacific Rim characters sets (i.e. multi-byte character sets).

I know somebody said that they solved this problem by configuring something (possibly the icon) to run Hero Editor in single-byte character set mode on their non-English version of Windows. However, I have yet to have someone explain to me exactly what they did.

You might try Start / Settings / Control Panel, and see if Regional Settings has any useful options.
