HolyFreeze On Doom Runeword question

I have a Holy Freeze pally on Non-ladder and have started a new one on ladder and thought of something. Holy freeze increases your dam through the cold bonus it gives. Doom runeword gives you like a lvl 13 holy freeze aura I think it was. So if I use Doom and my normal Holy Freeze aura, will i get the damage bonus from both? Meaning i get the damage from a lvl 20 HF aura and additional damage from the lvl 13 HF from Doom? If so that would be insane damage with the added bonus of the lower cold resist and freeze target from Doom not to mention the +2 to skills. Anybody know this for a fact cause I dont want to waste my time getting Doom if it wont work.

i don't know if it works or not, but if it did u can also get a holy freeze merc and give him a doom too, lol.

if it worked that would be badass because ud be doing an *** load of cold damage and i dont think u can do that because u need 2 auras up at once dont u? if u dont and it adds to 1 aura then it should work :Þ

Yeah I think the easiest way to find out would be Exile runeword. It gives you a lvl ?16? Defiance aura. Now I know you CAN have the shield equiped and get the aura but also use your right click aura, i.e. Fanat,Conviction,HF whatever. I dont know if you can turn your defiance aura on and have it add to the one from Exile. If you can then the Doom runeword should work this way to but come to think of it I dont think Exile and defiance double stack. Anyone know this for sure?

K so I wouldnt get a double damage bonus. What about this though. If Doom gives me Holy Freeze aura can I put points into a synergy like resist cold and up the damage of the HF? And if I had +skills would that up it from lvl 16?

Dead I heard that if you have a item like cta for example or doom you can get plus to skills with your other gear. So I think that you would be able to get more than lvl 16 holy freeze on doom (haven't had time to try this though). And as for the synergy, I don't even think they would count. Although for a paladin i think the synergy would work. I'll have to try this out though. Sorry couldn't be more a help but the plus to skills and special auras you get is very confusing lol.

Pretty much I had this idea for a Holy Freeze pally using a Doom weapon but it isnt going to work how I hoped. But then I had another idea....

So you have a normal Zealot, using Fanat aura, zeal the basics. But his weapon is a Doom Runeword. This gives you the Holy Freeze aura also. So you would attack very quickly with Fanat, have the HF slowing all enemies 50%, freezing every enemy you actually hit from Doom, having additional damage coming from the cold damage bonus from Doom, and Doom would also lower the enemies cold resistance. From what I'm hearing this could work and if so you would have a pally doing huge phy,and cold damage while slowing and freezing all enemies and attacking very very fast himself. It would be taking a Zealot and Holy Freeze pally and being able to use both at the same time!

umm dont know what your talking about but theres no way unless your playing open that someone can make Holy Freeze slow down your attack speed.

Just so you know you wont get the hugh bonus to +16 to holy freeze or whatever it is. Because at Battle.net because they wanted to prevent excatly what your trying to do. So heres what they say:


Skill Points that work for Any Class ("oskill" Skill Points)
The Trang-Oul's Avatar Set gives +18 to Fireball and +13 to Fire Wall. The boost to fireball (as well as Frostwind's arctic blast bonus and a whole lot of other items) are examples of what's internally known as an "oskill". These are skill bonuses that work for any class. If a Necromancer is wearing a Trang-Oul set, he'll get +18 fireball and any +X To All Skills equipment can further increase this. The same applies to all other non-sorceress class wearing a part of that set. However, oskills work differently for classes that "own" that skill. In this case, it's a Sorceress getting a bonus to Fireball. In the other case, it was a Druid getting a bonus to Arctic Blast. If a character gets an oskill bonus to a skill that class "owns," the bonus is restricted to a maximum of +3. If a Barbarian is dual-wielding Call to Arms
