Holy Hell! i deleted my character!

besides if you got to the file on windows you still couldnt get char....it on bnet server

I once delete one of my characters then started a new one with the same name and got that character back. This was my first character on b-net so it was ******. Strange huh. I started a new necro which he was originally with the same name and join a game and he was lvl 37 the same lvl I was and had the same equipment I had one. You coould try that or maaybe it was a gllitch who knows.

Not true, on windows there is no way to completely delete anything there is a folder in the way back of the system that contains every deleted piece of material, i forgot how to access it though...its very hard to.

If that were true. I wouldnt have any hardrive space left.

not all of every file remains when they are deleted. fragments of different files remain and unless they are deleted with a much more sophisticated process than the base windows deletion then the files remain at least in part on the hard drive (possbily recoverable, but more than likely not)

atualy it would be true becouse if he did b.net would think of it as a copyed char so automatacly it would change it becouse it would recover it self so that must mean that there is a trash bin come place are a backup of your char some where on the HD of theres.

I'm sure blizzards makes regular backup images of their servers' hard drives which means they could opt to restore any character from a previous time. I think i remember reading in their policy that they could do this, but wouldn't unless there was a very valid reason, which deleting your character on accident would not be to them. The best hope u have is to fill out this form <a href="http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=eD2Relink000">Character Recovery Form</a> and hope that they will do something about it.

yea but i douht they would go loken for a char and "try" to recover it back they would just tell you sorry we could not find your char with that e-mail or some thing like that.

i doubt they'd restore your character because you accidently deleted it, but you could give it a shot

lol If u wasted a week making a char big deal. I lost a char I was making for months and thats probably why im not playing anymore.

abiosis iam thinking me and you think on the same level because if we didnt think on the same level my brian would hurt and i wouldnt be able to post and reply to your knit picking about undeleting chars and time being unable to remake or undo time to a cetain point and in which if it was in a big recycling bin(ooh my brain is startin to act up) the file would still be on the computer wouldnt it so u wouldnt be able to rename and you can if u deleted it either b.net does have a big recycle bin and has a program to auto delete or erase a certain point in time so the acc cannot have a character rename of the same class or name cannot be created... see i think on the same level as you:eek:

yea i think he is but if b.net did my friends father is a beta testor for them and he dos see chars thta have been banned cd-keys thta are crap and chars so they are bein stored some place

k heres a bit of a weird thing i heard. when you delete a file thats stored on ur comp, the surface part of it is sent to your recycle bin. thats where you can choose to delete it or restore it (duh). but..... the file remains on your computer, you just cannot access it unless you get a special program to recover deleted files. to fully delete it you must name a file with the same name as the one you delete. this causes the file to be destroyed completely.
