i recently got scammed out of an ist and gheeds on a drop trade i droped and then poof he was beside me how did he do it?

Okay I know of a few possiblities, but I'd like more information:
1) Why do a drop a trade? I've found no intellegent use for this yet, and is more dangerous than regular trade window.
2) Where were you (act and place. Please be specific)
3) Was there lag on your end? His end?

There are numerous ways to cause lag as a necro - all those bone wall (and similar spells, although usually takes more than just 1 necro). Some 100 minions/summonables... There are darker ways of causing lag (DDoS, but highly unlikely; you wouldn't be worth it even if he did have the capabilities). Although the Necro class is known for it's lag causing capablities - widely abused back in the day of the lag dupes. Also if it was near Warvin or one of those guys that you can use to travel, there is a trick for poofing and appearing out of nowhere (although I doubt it would work for this case). Truely the list does go on.

well it was in a1 i had no lag he was a necro

just b4 trade he ran around a bit and said checking for glitches lol( i know shoulda clued in) then went to agreed are and i droped thing and poof he picked up and was beside me picked up my stuff blang thats it left

its either tele or telepick. they are d2hackit modules. it allows any char any lvl to tele in town. not really tele like a skill but send commands(packets i think) that make u tele.

and he was on the side closest to akara right?

Well that gives me only a little more information - if the trade was near Warvin, he could have tried some hopping technique that says go west, then go east, and more or less teleported by the goods (I don't know if that works in closed, but in open I think it does). Maybe just sending a packet that says travel to A1 (not WP teleport), causes the warping (I don't know, I haven't played with that).

Or maybe he was just running around casting bonewall and stuff, lagging his end to the server and was really stand right next to you when you dropped the stuff, but do to the lag, you still see him else where.

Of course there are always hackit modules (right drl8, I was forgot about that) - some for auto picking up items in town and stuff.

Those are a few explainnations I have. Either may be right, but both could be wrong. I don't have that much experience with this type of bug. I hope I've been of some help. If anyone else have an explainations that are less wrong (needs not to be correct), please do post them.

man i had the same thing happen to me but wit an anni i dropped and Poof he was right beside me and he had the anni but he was a pally and he was running around me to:mad: i was soo mad then his friend cam in and was like ill trade u an anni for ur tals now drop it.
