Can't Connect to b.net

Why can't I connect to battle net?!? I have been banned since 9:30 A.M.

I have tried deleting registry keys and I re-installed the game but I just can't connect to the internet! It just says connecting..checking version... and then the msg box goes away and I am just sitting at the menu. What am I doing wrong here?!?

Update on my perdicament: It seems that I can connect to any server but U.S. East. This is the server I play most often.

A temp ban can last for 2 days, but have you tried to delete the battle.net registry entries or changing your cd key if you have multiple ones that you use. Some cd keys will give you a temp ban.
