ATI Radeon Video CArds

Well I recently 'borrowed' city of heroes from a friend so i could try it out, i installed and started making my character, then once i go to the world everything was grey, i sought help at the local city of heroes forum. They say that you need at least an ATI Radeon 8500, (i have a 7500), so then i went to my local computer store and they said that the ATI Radeon's 9200 128MB would be like 69 dollars to install, so thinking that it would be cheaper just to buy it myself and then install it myself, i was wonderin if it was very hard, and if anyone knew a good online guide or something that i could use while in the process

First get a hammer........J/K
Just pull the old one and put the new one in its place. You might need a screwdriver to remove the retaining screw if it uses them. Here's a guide with photos if it helps.

make sure you get the correct card for the slot if you have an AGP slot get a AGP card if not you'll have to go with a PCI card, yes there is a big difference in speed and quality, should always get a AGP if you have a slot for it

be sure you ahve an AGP 8X slot on your mobo...

REMOVE THE OLD DRIVERS

shut down

replace the card

install drivers for your AWESOME new card =)

im using a radeon 9800 pro, and i used to use a radeon 9000 - both cards i prefer the omega driver's for them... http://www.omegadrivers.com

the fastest onces (according to aquamark3 and 3dmark03 were 4.5 cats based)
