Sup people - I figure this is about as far away from Diablo as possible (well... not really, but I don't want to discuss that)

Anyways I've been playing some Doom3 and that game is great. ID did a ton of work for this game. I mean in the game there are emails, and like all email systems, people receive spam. Only thing is, there are a few websites in that game that actually exist. One major spam is from www.martianbuddy.com, which is a real website; ID went through the trouble of registering the websites that appear in the game.

Some other crazy stuff about D3. Its dark, its scary, and its a breakthrough. There is this one part I was playing today, and a giant light is shining on a wall from quite some distance. Anyways, as I was walking towards the door on the side of the wall, I notice a shadow moving on the wall - I quickly spun around and shot a giant, floating head, with a shotty. The most annoying part is that the game is really dark, and you cannot (by default, there is a mod out there) use a flashlight and a gun at the same time.

I don't want to ruin any story of the game so I'll try to stay to basics. Many classic Doom weapons are back (chainsaw, shot gun, fists, etc.) This is one of those games that make a major leap forward. So far, the story loosely resembles the HL storyline (and a few other HL firsts). Doom 3 has the ability to rattle most people's nerves, but I'm mostly just drinking it all in... I wanted more monsters attacking out of the dark and biting your face off (like HL). My brother can't even play it for an hour (older brother BTW). Although I have to play it on his Computer, because my GPU is classic (well old, well GF2 GTS).

As for general improvements... ID must have found a writer to fix their story, it is really part of the game, and adds more to the freaky element. Their Doom 3 Engine is crazy efficient! A GF4 4600 can run at medium quality with more than enough FPS. The HAVOC 2 Physics Engine works mostly well - I've seen only one bug so far, I move an operation table, and a fraged arm stays in the same spot, not relative to the table. However, it fell fine. First the arm stuck out over an edge, after I was done confirming the bug, then its center of balance changed and it slid off the table onto the floor.

Anyways, I figure if anyone wants to talk about this besides me... Go ahead...

I'm going to have to go visit my brother again to continue playing (unless someone donates a free Geforce 6800 GTS to me)

Edit - my grammar is still horrible, but not quite as bad.

Zeke, I've downloaded tons of stuff from http://www.suprnova.org and I have never had any problems. It's where I got some movies, downloaded Halo for the PC and GTA: Vice City, and some music maybe, I can't remember. Maybe some other games. And not once have I gotten a virus from it.

I think we are getting off topic by talking about suprnova. I guess I might as well join in on the rant. Suprnova, if used properly (do not bend, do not fold, etc.) will not get you virused/trojaned. However, there is a draw back to using suprnova over newgroups - suprnova has been monitored or rather the ip's in copyrighted on the .torrents by RIAA and MPAA (I know for sure, not sure about video game industry). I wish I could find the article, but I don't want to spend half an hour to try to find which news source I got it from then spend 30 seconds searching their achives

Then your friend is a dumbass for downloading without an antivirus.
SuprNova is a clean site. He probably had those trojans from a while back.

He probably went to suprnova.com or .net. Both are fake I think... .org is the only real one.

~Doom 3~
I do hate how it is completely dark everywhere, but it adds to the suspension so much, and makes even cooler looking lighting effects.
