BTW people I dont have dsl and I cant get it here, I GOT CABLE!! ![]() ![]() Changing IP's ??? - DaRK_IMMoRTAL - 07-20-2005 yea thats the only way i know of that u can actually change yur ip is with a lil somthin $bling$bling$ Changing IP's ??? - maistyle2k - 07-22-2005 You need to be directly connected to your cable modem, no routers or switches in between you and the cable modem. Go to your Network Connections and double click the connection you use for the internet. There should be two tabs, General and Support. Under the Support tab, hit the Details button. WRITE ALL the information down except the "physical address" which is your MAC address. Set this asside for later use. Now go back to the General tab and hit the Properties button. In the window that comes up, scroll down to and double click "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" or whatever looks closest to that. In the windows that comes up, change your IP config from "Obtain an IP address auto" to "Use the following IP address". Enter in the information you wrote down into each field. Nothing should be left blank. Now hit OK, and close the properties. Leave the first box up (the Status Window) Now if you need to change your ip address simply go into there, and change the last number within your ip. (Note that if you change your ip, the one you are trying to use may already be in use.) In this case, change the last two digits, or try a new number. |
