OEM means, in that case, that it would be JUST the processor and it would not come with a heat sink or fan or any software (if it was "needed"). For those of us in the computer moding world we buy most things OEM as it saves money on parts we would normal just chuck in our "useless" box and allow to collect dust.

Oh well, I'm not the one buying, but I could try to sell the heatsink and stuff and give to profits to my parents because they payed. =)

I went out and priced everything up on Newegg and came out to a grand total excluding shipping at:
$4,331.15
Its about how much I thought a new high end top of the line computer would cost. Thats without PSU and heat sink. tack another ~$260 for those and another 170+ for the case.

I have one listed in all those parts. The PSU is a 510watt PC Power & Cooling PSU with a max watt out put of 650-680 watts. Its the top PSU on the market with the best rails and most stable voltages. I have one myself and it handels 4 cathods 6 fans 4hd's 2optical drives 1floppy and then the CPU and video card and it doesnt even flinch. Maximum PC has used it consistently to run there top of the line pimp rig for a few years now and so far its usually the only one that can sucessfully run the systems.

I'll stick with the redundant power supplies for rigs like that. But the 510W from PC Power $ Cooling should be good enough. (I believe that's what Alienware ditches in their systems)

Redundant PSU's in a non-critical non-server computer? That seems like a waste of money but the kids rich so I guess why not.
I'm not "hip" on redundant PSU's so feel free to make a suggestion or two on which ones would be "most bestes".
