rep points idea

xDBD Wrote:why does the tag even matter? if you contribute, you contribute.. having a damned sticker under your name saying your a vet doesn't prove much if all you do is nothing

it's not so much as only a tag. if you are a vet member you get a 5% discount in the ushop. thats a big difference on the more expensive thing.

wow okay, this is some serious business here.

i'm just gonna exit here, that 5% discount is blowin me mind

That was some nice Sarcasm. If Pyro was Hawk then he last posted like a few weeks ago. Im also tired of seeing the "Forgot my old Username/ Password" Who cares if you were here on a different account. Also Slut, I take it Mark gave you some rep, as you are now a Vet.

spit it out ?

i don't use the fact that i've had a d2s account to my advantage. the whole POINT of everything i've said in this thread is i really don't see the big deal. it doesn't MATTER how old of a member you are, how many posts you have, how many times a mod have shined you.. if you contribute positively and plentifully to the forum, that's all that matters. having a freaking tag saying you're a vet does nothing but boost serious egos on some serious internerconnects

hey i have been here for awhile but i did make a differ accnt (sry i did not mean to break the rules) but hey help out people and stay here for awhile and get rep and stuff and you will be a veteran and if you are really good then you can be a mod but i think you should stop crying and try to help people

eh ive been here close to half a year now, and ive had the vet discussion before, fuggle just finds it really easy to get reps for some reason. ive been at 19 since like a week after the reset. Its kinda annoying but i learned to live with it. Its partly because i dont play east ladder so im not as well known as some of the guys. But complaining about it really isnt gunna do much. It will just get people more pissed off. And im a little confused as to how Slut JUST BECAME A VET?? Thats kinda ridiculous. You know theres something wrong when someone like him isnt a vet. I had more to say but this tangent made me forget it so im done now....

To idiots, whiners, and other people longing to be a Vet:

Listen up. The Vet system is to show off the best members. Who cares if you can give out rep, delete your posts, or get a 5% discount. The whole point of being a veteran is to show that you influence the state of the board in a positive way, not about wh0ring rep. Also, the mods give out rep all the time. You just aren't doing anything that warrants someone to press that little button.

YAY MATT! AMEN!

Fuggle got his vet status cuz he got like a skillion reps from making the DIIS logo. Slut deserved it- he got it- g.j Jase.

Also xDBD is completely right, reputation exists in more ways than green bars and a variable assigned to your screenname. Personally he holds (for me) close to the most amount of respect I have for anyone at this website, amongst a few others. Just because he has a brain.

all i know is Jason deserved his vet status and stifle you can suck a Nut if you dont think jason deserves it. real reputation is how people know you on the forums me personaly... hardly any one knows me ... so it wouldnt matter if my ''rep'' was 5 billion just because some mod made it that way... your real rep matters and thats final
#31
your a retard reread my post and then maybe ill talk to you again
#32
I got another suggestion, people that been on the site for more than a year and have a clean record and have 1000+ posts can also be vet members?

Stifle is cool, he said that its bad when a person like slut ISNT a vet. Just a little confusing.

dyna, no offense but some people prolly wont think so after the things youve done to **** people off. Personally i think that you prolly do deserve it.

Don't worry Pyro, took me about three times to realize what Stifle said there aswell, and thanks for possitive thoughts guys, BTW cheers to Jedi for giving me rep I needed.

np jason; i saw you were helping out that Immortal guy in that "Signature" thread, and that's the kind of stuff i look for when i'm deciding whether to give out rep (yes mods DO give out rep, it's just our discression as to what we give it out for). I sure hope that nobody here that wants it really bad wants it for 1)popularity contest (to make yourself look good), or 2)just so you can get any of the extra abilities as a vet. ideally, i see a vet as somone that is always able to help out the members of the forum, and good stuff like that.

In my decidedly short tenure as a mod, I've already given several reps. Just, apparently, not to YOU. (directed at the 3 thousand members I haven't repped yet)

Let me get this straight, you get the entitre rep system reset and now you want to become a veteran member meaning you get 100 rep. hypocrite.
