Your Thoughs on Advent Children *WARNING SPOILERS*

Well I just watched FF:AC and it was good but the end dissappointed me. I just thought it was stupid how Sephiroth said something like "I will not just be a memory" and left Kadaj's body with no explanation. Then magically they somehow had the cure for Geostigma and it was over. It was great until Sephiroth left I guess, I loved the movie but hated the end. FF7 was really the only FF game I got into. I 100% it like twice.

I guess overall my thoughts in the end are "Better than that other crappy FF movie Smile "

Ok, you've played FF7 through so did you pay attention at all? The cure for Geostigma was in the rain which came after Kadaj destroyed the flowers...it was Aerith's power/love that cured them. As for Sephiroth Cloud is struggling with his memories and like the end of FF7 they had the final confrontation that is supposed to purge Cloud of his darkness, in FF7 you travel through that worm hole thing and have the final fight in Cloud's mind while in AC it was Sephiroth manifesting himself through another's body and Jenova's cells.

Now that line at the end, "I wont remain a memory," (That's the Japanese translation I had I use it because I despise the translation Square did for the English release) is symbolic of what Kadaj and Rufus talked about where they mentioned history repeating itself and pretty much saying Sephiroth will continue to return, Cloud will never be free of his darkness, until he finishes the job.

This is the way I interpreted these parts...there was much much more symbolically and philosophically so if anyone wants to bring up another point I'm definately open to discussion.

I watched the subbed version, and yeah I guess you're right about the rain. I have only watched it once and I know I'm going to watch it again. So I guess what your saying is that Aerith was combatting the Jenova cells from the Lifestream? Thats how I took it, not sure but I think thats what you meant.

All in all no matter what I said though it is still a good movie. To bad it wasn't a game ><

I have a subbed version that wasn't translated by Square. Square's translation is modified to match the English dialogue for the voice-overs which was modified to make it sync better with the already animated lips. English version = lazy Square

i bought the dvd the day after it came out. i went to Best Buy in the afternoon to see if they sell it or not. Unfortunately, they all sold out. Good thing, Fry's Electronics was on the way so i tried there. hehe, there were only 3 copies left in Fry's Electronic so i snagged it ($15.99. waited for that shit for more than 2 years. i waited instead of just downloading a jap version with english subtitle which i think it's stupid to spoil a badass movie. so i waited for the official US version. on the way back home, i bought some burrito and super nacho to munch on during the movie. after i got home, i pissed to relieve myself so i don't have to do it while watching it. got comfortable and bust up my 6 surround sound to the max. Wow!!!! The CG cinematic was incredible. It looked so god damn real. So So So much better than Final Fantasy: Spirits Within. At last, after 9 years of the death of Aeris, i could see her once again. Everytime Aeris popped out, my tears started to shed. I Couldn't help myself. i bet many of you felt the same way as i do. The movie is beautiful in every way, no doubt. As for the story, I am indeed disappointed. I mean how can the creator focus on Aeris so less.... she's like the most important person in the game. I know she's dead and all, but come on, at least let Cloud see her face. Another thing is that there should be a love story in it. Cloud and Tifa should end up together. Everyone would like that idea. In my opinion, fighting while riding the motorcycle is kinda boring after a certain time. Yah it was cool that he can store many swords in his bike, but dude, it got lame after 2 scenes of it. I thought i would watch more than once in the beginning. To come of it, there is minimal story going on.

My Movie Score:
CG- 10/10
Story- 2/10

sorry to say this but the lack of a love intrest was great its something different
horror movies are the same
action movies are the same
so many movies are so ****ING identical that its stupid
this is a movie i'd movie i'd love to watch multiple times and btw if you had gotten it earlier you would have has a more acurate translation of the movie
AC was good the whole way through and kept it as close to the game as possable even adding the survival of rufus(if i remember correctly)

Did you even watch the movie? Did you catch any of the symbolism?

First off, the movie is about Cloud's redemption mainly with the sub theme of Aerith's love and the power it granted him.

That whole thing where he looks at here and she disapears is taken from a Greek myth where a man had developed a way to save people from dying and because of this nobody died anymore and no new souls entered the Underworld. As punishment for upsetting the balance Hades demanded Zeus to take action so Zeus killed his wife with a lightning bolt and Hades forced the man to make a deal. The man had to agree to stop making his potions and Hades would allow him to take his wife back...but if the man looked back, showing doubt that Hades would lie by checking to see if she was really following him, before they left the Underworld then he would keep the man's wife and he still had to stop making potions. As they crossed the river Styx he looked back and saw his wife...as she slowly faded away returning to the Underworld.

As for the love thing...they kind of are together they wanted to avoid doing something like that and ended up not showing any of the lovey stuff. The story was incredible if you were sharp enough to pick up on how much was going on.

dude, of course i watched the movie. after all, i bought the hard copy. I, for one, is a loyal hardcore fan of FF7. we cannot let our prior judgment affect something that follows. FF7 the game was the best game ever... no doubt about that. however, the movie is kind of a let down. just because the game was good, that does not mean anything follows it will be good. For example, that bahamut sucked ass. for real. One blow from Cloud and he's a goner????? bahamut should be a strong mofo. also, his appearance is not even cool, mean looking monster. i guess the artist just threw in everything he can think of and call it the "ultimate beast." I could have drawn better than that summon. and don't get me started with Kadaj. he is kind of young to be the villain of the infamous sequel of Final Fantasy VII. why not just make sephiroth be the badass throughout the whole movie. only in the end he popped out is an insult to his popularity of reputation. Good thing he said, "I will not be just a memory," meaning he has not reached an end. peace guys.

We're now seeing the rare fanboy in its natural habitat. I'm going to stick my fingers in it's holes and piss it off. LOL Tongue

this movie does not meet my expected outcome. after months and months, even years of delays, this should be the very best they can put on shelf to sell worldwide. and this is what they made? kinda rubbish to me. i cant' stress enough how much this movie sucked. i will never ever watch it again in my own interest, probably only when other people are watching it. i will only watch its perfections on the cinematics, not the storyline. LOL!!! to think about it, i think there were only 4 scenes throughout FF7 AV: motorcycle battle, creepy forest with white tress (wtf were they smoking then they come up with that), city being attacked by the weakass summon Bahamut, and last battle with Sephiroth. stinky movie Smile from now on, i don't expect any good movies from Tetsuya Nomura. hehe.... plz go back making games instead of being an oddball director.

if you can make a better looking bahamut then in the movie i'll agree with how badly its been made
kadaj in a sense was sephiroth
really you have no taste in movies

first off the wierd tree is the near the location were aries was laid to rest
if you dont even know that you shouldn't even spout anything about this movie
in ff7 bahamut was a weak dragon summon comepaired to neo and zero bahamut so that works out fine
Tetsuya did a fine ass job of directing this

The Bahamut shown in AC was Bahamut Sin which was actually from FFX and while his appearance does seem excessive I thought he looked pretty good in the movie, and in X he was a very bad ass summon...at least until you got Anima. Kadaj and his gang represent the corrupted youths and a sort of lost innocence. Also, it would be weird for them to be older when they are basically Sephiroth clones, though not true clones.

I would like to point out that I had been waiting for this movie for around 3-4 years and practically died inside every time they delayed it and wouldn't even give us a US release date...I feel my fandom was betrayed by Square in the English translation they did and prefer the fan translation which I have a DVD of. While the English version still held all of the great symbols and undertones it lacked decent dialogue and good acting...So, find a fan translation and you'll like it more.
