So many things can be solved by a swift kick to the balls
And yes, Phallock, that is correct. I remember my old math teacher demonstrated this to us but it was so long ago I couldn't remember.

"what is 1+1" One gaurd sais 2, so does the other? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHO IS THE LIER? one can ONLY tell the truth and one can lie AND tell the truth so that doesnt work... if im stupid just explain

I got this. Ok say to the lying guard you want to die, he will point you to the happiness door, now ask the other guard to point you to death and he'll point you in the same way. Which means only one thing! 2 of em said death therefore the last door is happiness. Just have both guards answer the same question but opposite for the lying one.
Or you can ask the guard which door you came from. OMGBBQ!1one1!

EASY ask what will the other guard say. Let's say the right door is the bad one, the good door is the left one. The lieing one will lie and tell you the death door, the right one. The one telling the truth will say the death door, the right one, because he tells the truth. So then you go to the other door, the right one.

Dyna, here is what is wrong with your logic
You ask the first guard which door points towards death, and he points you to a door 1
You ask the second guard which points to happiness and he points you to door 1
If the first guard is a liar he would be pointing to the same door as the truthful guard.
If the second guard is a liar he would be pointing to the same door as the truthful guard.
So happiness/death door aside if you ask them those questions, both will lead you to the same door.
Sheesh invisble, relax

Think you got the riddle wrong, I think it's one only lies, one only tells the truth, and if you got the riddle wrong, then my answer is the right one.

this scenario has been messed with so much it isn't funny. how about this: ask each one which door is the door leading to the door of death. both pick opposite doors. Now ask each of them is the door of happiness. Again, they pick both doors. Now, ask each of them which door they would want to go through if they were kicked in the balls and thrown through a door. they both pick the door of happiness, for neither wishes being kicked in the balls, then thrown in the door of death

AlmostDeadly Wrote:Kick one of the guards in the balls.
When he crumples to a heap on the floor, ask the other guard "Do you want me to kick you in the balls too?"
The liar will say yes, and the truthful guard will say no.
Based on that answer you can then ask them if the door leads to happiness/death.
And kick the remaining guard in the balls also for good measure. Funny, but wont work, no guard is gonna say kick me in the balls first of all, second the guard doesnt just lie he tells the truth also...............
Additional Comment:
Phallock Wrote:That is an old one, in fact I saw it on "Dr. Who" a VERY long time ago, probably 20 or more years ago.
EDIT: ask either guard "If I ask the other guard 'what is the door to happiness?" what will he answer?" The lying guard will point to the door to death because it isn't to happiness and the truthful guard will point to the door of death because that IS what the lying gaurd would point to. They will both point to the door of death, so take the other door. Also wont work because if you ask both guards, they could say go in this door there standing by, they wont point to another door. Thats why that made it tricky

Just a quick question: Can the guard who can both LIE and tell the TRUTH decide if he wishes to either LIE or tell the TRUTH, or is it more like a random thing where sometimes he'll randomly LIE and sometimes he'll randomly tell the TRUTH? Does he have the morals to decide which of the two answers he'll give?
