The thing is, one of the guards can tell truth or lies.
This is impossible.
Math = 7+x+y= 74, x and y can be anything, therefore you can never find out x and y. Like math, there is 1 known and 2 unknowns, with 3 variables total, so his problem is impossible.

Bartender is of course right. I read the thread and with two unknowns (which guard's a liar, and whether the "liar" will lie) its a game of chance.

THERE IS AN ANSWER i dont know it jesus and it can be solved i asked him if it was impossible TODAY! just got home from school ( summer skool ) he said there is a answer is the simplest one you can think but hard to come up with

I think this riddle is definately a trick question maybe we should start thinking outside this little square thats been holding us...
that 11 year old genius kid is rite its impossible to answer so its got to be a trick question of some sort...
