D2 No Cd Loader 'Hey guys we got a big error here :('. HELP PLZ
#1
Im sorry if i am repeating a post but i've been looking and have not found a solution to my problem. Well I am trying to get the Diablo 2 no Cd Loader. I've already installed D2 Class and D2 LOD and d/l 1.11b patch. Then I've copy and paste the 2 files from the D2 LOD files needed for the no cd loader which are D2XVIDEO.MPQ and D2XMUSIC.MPQ to the diablo file. I've also cut and paste the D2 Loader icon replacing the original diablo exe. And I am able to get diablo 2 started without the cd. I'm using absolutely no other hacks or d2 related programs like Mh by the way.

My Problem here is when i try to connect to B.net the diablo 2 program closes automatically and shoots out the msg 'Hey guys we got a big error here Sad'.
Does anyone know the solution to this? It would really help. Thanks.

You seem to have done everything correctly. When you say replaced the old one you mean you made D2Loader reanmed to DiabloII.exe and had it replace the original?

What you can try to do is cut the two files (d2xmusic\video) out of the Diablo II folder and put them somewhere else for now. Put the CD in and see if you can run D2Loader with the CD. If you can't then we know it is some sort of other problem.

I am sorry for the late reply. Just narrowing some things down right now to see what the problem is. I will get you to find what the error is after you answer these few questions.

Well first and fore most thanks for helping out wm hunter.. well i have 1 question. Before your replaced the D2Loader icon with the original Diablo II icon do you have to rename it exactly DiabloII.exe ?? Because that may be the only thing i did not do, i just renamed the D2loader file Diablo II.

I did as what you ask me to do and took out the d2xmusic/video files out of the diablo 2 program file and tried running D2Loader with the d2 LOD cd in and the samething happened again. I was able to run d2 until i click connect to b.net and the samething happened again. The game closes and shows the error msg We have a big error.

I even uninstalled d2 and reinstalled it and just replace the D2loader file naming it "Diablo II" and replaced it with the original Diablo II game icon without copy and pasting the d2xmusic/video files and tried running it with the cd and samething happened. Hope this is enough information to narrow down my problem lol

Thanks again

Your not supposed to replace it with your d2 game icon.

well i thought about that when I replaced the original D2 game icon with the D2Loader icon so I uninstalled and deleted Diablo 2 and reinstalled it and installed D2loader into D2 "without" replacing the original D2 game icon and yet again Iwhen I try to connect b.net, Diablo 2 automatically closes on me and i get the Hey guys we got a big error here.

The game works without loader?

Im not sure what your trying to say. Uhm yeh the game works without the d2loader but I'm hoping I can use the d2loader so I can run 2 diablo 2 games at one time. I've been using d2loader for like a month and for some reason it stopped working on me and it keeps closing d2 when connecting to b.net and saying the Big error msg.
I do note that after installing the D2loader and trying to run D2 with the d2loader and failing to pass connection to battle.net. When i try to run D2 with the original Diablo II.exe. icon, it allows me to connect to battle.net it gives me the msg Battle.net is unable to properly identify your application identity. I dont know if it has any relation to my problem. Just putting it out there.

If you can't run dia properly with the original exe then it's got nothing to do with the loader, there must me something wrong with your game files. Those could have been overwritten or changed if you have installed a mod.

Just for arguments sake can you please take a screenshot of your Diablo II folder..

Before doing this go to Tools>Folder Options > View and make sure Hide file extensions of known types is not checked. You can always change it back.

Screenshot, save in paint, upload to ImageShack and post here on forum. If you have trouble do a forum search for screenshot, there is a guide kicking around here somewhere.

Where the hell is D2Loader, I only see the original D2 that you renamed and game.exe...

If you replaced Game.exe with D2Loader you messed up. You replace DiabloII.exe or rename DiabloII.exe first and then name loader it if you want to have a backup.

What a virgin dia folder <3 mine is full of screenies, hax and other crap that i never bothered to delete. Doesn't loader come with a dll file? maybe you are missing that one. Did you download the latest version of the loader from this site?

the site I d/l d2loader from was at d2loader.blizzsector.co and i d/l the
D2Loader v1.11b (Nov 11 2005).zip (hopefuly this is the latest version lol if not sorrys)and once extracted these are the files given http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y10/dor...ess/d2.jpg

(heres a screenshot of what files are given after the file is extracted) And I took the D2Loader-11.1b icon and renamed it DiabloII.exe and pasted it into my C:\Program Files\Diablo II folder which is right nxt to my original Diablo II icon which is named Diablo II original.exe.
So im a bit confused on what you mean Where my D2Loader is because its right next to the original D2 icon. And no I did not replace D2Loader with game.exe.

Take D2Loader. Move it into C:\Program Files\Diablo II folder (default location). Rename it to DiabloII.exe. Final step is optional, but you wont have any broken shortcuts then.

first of all thanks for all the help given from everyone...yesterday i tried installing the d2multitool on my friends computer and it worked perfectly without any problems so i guess theres something wrong with my computer that is making d2loader to crash. I dont know what though lol I even resorted to reformatting my computer but and reinstalling d2 but for some reason it still crashes and get the big error but yeh
