Best place to get runes?

Hey everyone , The highest Hellforge can drop is Gul . And the highest Countess can drop is Ist . I think Council would be the place to find high runes I think .

So I need to get serious boon here in the MF department, we're talkin 8 ist runes, 6 for a 6soc phaseblade, and 4 for a 4 soc monarch. (both of these items I don't have yet either to put the runes in haha)

i don't know if you already have 2 ists, and i don't know what math that you use, but i thought that 6 + 4 = 10....

i thought that Bremm was the guy that u get to right before you get to meph, unless that is who Skye was referring to.... i don't know if Bremm has a higher rank than the council members standing out of Meph's Durance or not, but if not the guys outside the Durance are: Ismail Vilehand, Geleb Flamefinger, and Toorc Icefist. The guys inside in Durance of Hate level 3 are: Bremm Sparkfist, Wyand Voidbringer, and Maffer Dragonhand.

Why not stick to making new characters, rushing them to hell and do their nightmare and hell hellforges for some pretty nice runes.

It isnt gul!It can drop up to zod (in the case of hell)

the countess is the best place to get runes other then the hellforge. mf dosent effect rune finding and high level runes are in the highest treasure class so if u want to find good runes fight a high lvl monster. ie. pit monsters, or anything in the worldstone levels. o and the best rune u can find from countess is a vex but not very often. out of 100 runs i found only 2.

i think that's pretty good, 2 vex's out of 100 runs.. cuz i did a shitload and i found jack shit, i think i found a lem 1 time i was stoked -_-

can someone post written stats from an official diablo 2 website on the lvl of the countess and the hellforge, i'd just like some written proof

and can anyone adress the rumor that above lvl 90 your hf drop is better, i dont think this is true

it's ok for 100 runs. although it did take me like 3 hours and i didn't get much of anything else.

hellforge can drop almost anything except a zod i think.

level does help your hf drop, the higher the level, the better the drop (generally) dunno if bnet has any offical comments about this specific q, but if you check arreat summit, i bet you can find something related

Botters have reported that the Countess can drop Sur.

ALSO, everyone is wrong about the best place to find runes. The best place to find runes is Ebay. lol

lol ok the best SMART way to find runes... all the runes on ebay are dupes lol... so are alot of the 1's up for trade (the high 1's) are dupes, i'm assuming the person that started this thread found that out and is wondering how to get some 100% legit runes (the only way to know they're 100% is by finding them yourself)

id have to say that council does have a pretty good drop rate...2 out of 23 runs i got mal but thats the highest to date...countess is another way to go if youre on ladder, but then again it might take 6 months before you put the runes together to get a zod :\
