Best FPS:
#1
Which one of these options is the best FPS (series)?
#2
either quake or unreal. its a close call....
#3
I think Half-Life, the story was awsome and the mods are limtless. Also the default gameplay is great and for it's time the graphics were pretty bad ***.

has anyone here besides me even played quake?
#7
I played Quake 2003 with the DBZ Mod.. Bid for Power, I believe. Best FPS is reserved for CS, not Half-Life, but it's superior mod, CS. I played cs(literally) years ago, but ever sinse they introduced steam, I quit and refuse to start again. I even hear they are starting to use PB.. further ruining a great game.
#8
whats PB?
and btw its quake III, not 2003
#9
Oh well. PB=Punk Buster.. kind of an anti-cheating system, but back in the day when they first made it, it banned many people for bs reasons. Steam is just gay. N-E-W-B-I-E-s* to CS tolerate it cause they've never played CS without it, but .. well, classic CS with no PB or Steam=addiction. I bet it'd be harder to quit classic CS than crack cocaine.

apparantly, ****** is a vulgar word here..
#10
whats so bad about steam? what does it add to reglar cs?
#11
Sigh, look, in actuality, steam probably isn't that bad. But talk to oldschool CS'ers like myself.. who actually played without it. All the CS noobs that I chat with now-a-days have no complaints.. Steam has probably improved beyond recognition sinse it was introduced a while back, but I just refuse to play it. I'm just being picky, I suppose
#12
ok.
but how is pb bad? doesnt it prevent aim bots and such?
#13
Again, way back when, when PB first came around, it terrorized older versions of R6 by preventing things that were more help than trouble(and no, I don't mean hacks that help you cheat-- useful bots[they actually existed way back when]), but again, PB has probably improved with time. I just refuse to play it.. same thing as steam.
#14
okok

whats an example of a usefull bot?
#15
I don't understand why ppl chose half-life over Unreal, c'mon people! It's UNREAL! I guess CS is alright tho, once i get Hi-Speed internet, im getting it.
#16
Battlefield beats them all. have anyof u ppl tried playing battlefield online it is wicked awsome.
#17
^too bad your computer wouldnt be able to run it^ lol
#18
Battlefield is ok, I got bored with it quickly. Unreal Tournament is great and so are it's sequels (even though 2003 was basically a remake of the original) and Unreal was good but Unreal II blew. Half-Life in every aspect is better, considering the time differences with the current Unreal games, at the time Half-Life could not be measured up to and every game tried to copy some aspect of it. CS is not a superior mod, maybe superior to all other mods excluding the original DoD, you can't compare a multiplayer mod by a campaign driven game. And Steam isn't that bad, I'm an old school CSer as well I've played since the late beta stages of the mod, it doesn't bug that much but I hardly play anymore. And trust me it's easy to quit CS I haven't played in years, except for rare exceptions at my friend's LAN parties cause no LAN party is complete without a CS match. Frankly I think the original state of the DoD was the best Half-Life mod out there, ever since the release of version 2.0 I stopped plying cause it just changed too much (I miss my 74-3 score).
