you gotta know more about computers then just mhz ghz etc. the reason it is faster, is it has less pipelines, pipelines is what acually does the computing, the less you have, the faster it gets results, the mac only has 7 pipelines, where the pc has like 20 i think it is (cant remember the exact amount), when it starts processing, it has to fill up the pipelines before it can output any data, so, the less you have, the faster they fill up, the faster you get results, if pentium had the same pipelines, then it would be faster, because it would fill the pipeline up quicker
if 2 cars are going 100 mph, and 1 has a big engine, while the other has a small engine, the small 1 is most likely going to run at a higher rpm to go the same speed as the bigger engine, while the bigger engine doesnt work at the same rpm, but goes the same speed (slower rpm same speed is like the mac running at a slower mhz, but same speed)
