If it's a DOS based program, it should read:
C:\Progra~1\Diablo~1\Diablo~1.exe
If it is and it's a batch file (.bat) then replace the .bat with .txt and open it. Then change everything that has the directory in it to what i just suggested.
The reason why this has to be is that Win95/98/ME requires the short filenames from programs ran from DOS. Don't know about Win2000 and XP. MS-DOS uses long filenames so you could run it from that instead of changing the files. You probably won't understand what i said but it's the best explanation i got.
EDIT: Oh yeah, make sure you change it back to .bat
