The numbers are created to designate what category of wrongness you were in to designate the ban
(I.E. I don't think they are "degrees" as they all get you banned). "8" is the number associated with using 3rd party software. Your accounts are gone forever. If this is your first offence, then you should be able to continue using that cdkey in about one month ("+ or -" a week probably).
The others are right when they say to check the forums. Probably 9 times out of 10, if you just wait a little bit for other people to get on, they will report problems before you encounter them. While I guess this is kind of a selfish way of looking at it, it is effective
If you were using eplay or any other hacks during the ban window, mule your items immediately. Sometimes it takes bnet a day or two to actually ban your account. Use that time wisely!!!
