What is rational and what is correct are two totally different things. It's rational that people learn things as soon as they are ready to handle them, but that is not always the case. It's rational to say that the older someone is, the more they know, but that is not always the case.
It just doesn't fit to say that EVERYONE older is more intelligent and they understand the world better than the youngin's. Especially over such a minute time period as four or five years.
