I never said having resistance is a bad thing, any moron with half a brain knows that resistance is good. Do you think resistance is #1 priority in EVERY BUILD for ANY CHARACTER ? Hell no. Godly setups are a formula of gear&specs that work that's all it is.
Look at the stats, would you rather have slightly more resists or: more defense, more mana, more life, more vit and +20% FCR? It's not a hard choice, ill im saying is lidless is the better choice for nightmare mode, and it is. Have you ever played with a godly necro? It's amazingly fun, it's my first pvp char and im glad i made it. Been playing diablo for a month or so and i have a better char than most people have in a year. It's great to be able to take a 12K hammer and not die.
For a necro, FCR is very important. there are breakpoints, 85 = 1st stage and 125 = 2nd stage. Think about it, if you shoot 5x as fast you've made your damage 5x what it was before (over a given unit of time) just by adding FCR.
As a rule of thumb only take advice from godly players, if you follow their advice you'll be godly as well. Like if a player joins a server and he destroys everyone over and over, that's who you ask for advice and you trust them even if you think something sounds wierd to you.
Like for example, I've been called a newb, by newbs, for wearing my godly circlet instead of a shako (it has +2 P&B, FHR, FCR and others). Or someone i know was called a newb for wearing angelic halo and ammy on his venom sin. As i said before just because the item itself isn't that great doesn't mean that it's not useful in a godly setup.
Right now im trying to make a godly fire sorc, and i havent really had much advice from anyone

1. Lidless does not give life
2. It doesn't give much mana, if you take in the fact that Homunculus gives more +energy, along with a mana regen
3. Lidless Doesn't give vitality either
4. I have played with a godly necro, since I use one myself. And lidless pales in comparison with my darkforce and even my boneflame, let alone my Homunc
5. Most "Godly" players don't even bother to talk to people asking them questions in duelling, since asking about duelling info is considered "rude"
6. No one necessarily cares if you've been called a noob, as EVERYONE has.
7. Godly players usually give advice like "**** off, noob"
8. ditto on 7
9. I think there are some good stickies on fire sorcs, if not, PM me and I'll send you one I use, and if you're too lazy to do that, just make a new thread

Look at the stats in the screenshots i posted, those are the changes for switching from lidless to hommy, i didnt touch any of the gear. not going into this any further.
Think about this
in hell:
w1: HOTO / Hommy
w2: CTA / Lidless
in NM you swap them:
w1: HOTO / Lidless
w2: CTA / Hommy
More life, mana, defense, vitality, add when you use battle orders w/ hommy than with lidless

No, apparently that's where they take place. I personally think it's queer, i design my character around Hell, not nightmare. Some people asked me to play on their team, I'm not in a clan. When i asked why we were dueling in nightmare everyone laughed at me and a teammate said "relax guys, he doesn't know that clan duels are in NM he's never played in a clan duel before" Needless to say, everyone in that game was VERY godly.

Blows my mind too. Plus i hate the mana potions in nightmare so i was kinda annoyed 
On a side note it's SUPER FUN. We had a trapper that does 12K, a zon that does 8K (hella 290s), and My bone necro (only does like 5 K bone spirit).
We played against a Druid, A Zon, And another necro.
One team starts at blood moore, one team starts at cold plains
first team says "bm ready"
second team says "cp ready"
then you guys FIGHT, you can either attack, or play defensive, or do whatever strategy you want. It's really quite fun. We got distroyed though like 5:0. They sent the druid in first teleporting down the left side and basically being a distraction while the zon picked ppl off and the necro just came in and did his thing.
My team was basically a pickup team, we never played together before.
So what happened was trapper and zon basically stayed immobile, set traps around a radius and camped inside the radius while casting more traps and firing guided arrows.
So basically it was me dog fighting with the druid and the necro, both at the same time. I got fed up of waiting for them to come one round, so after "cp ready" i CHARGED into their end, i rushed the zon by teleporting right beside him and killed him really quick with bone spear (2 shots), but he hit me once and my life was draining from poison. I engaged the necro after that and he killed me cause i was already weak and he was just a far better player than i was.
After this match, i realized i could have used lidless in NM instead of hommy because it's more effective to my setup in that difficulty setting.

LOL yeah, I asked everyone to go to hell, but they all laughed. It was really organized though. Each round after you die you can either wait by WP or at end of bridge, but you can't leave town until it's over. It really was fun even though we got served.

...what the heck is the point of that?!?!?! And Lidless gives +1 to the BO. Additional life and mana is REMOVED when you switch again, as it is based on PERCENTAGE. So example:
1k life with 200+ to mana with an item, then casted BO, doubling it.
So 2400 with the current setup.
Once you switch back, the increase is based on your OVERALL life, and not based on the items when you casted the BO, so it reverts to 2000 instead of 2200. Get it now? Never use Homunc with CtA. Lidless, splendor and sig shield are the best.

Yes I honestly know what I am talking about. I am fully aware that a person has to activate all three armors if he/she wants to use Chilling Armor, however since no intelligent person would do so because Frozen Armor requires only one skill point to activate, and if a person wanted higher defense than Frozen, he/she would use Shiver, it remains to be seen why you would activate all three. Unless of course you are just stupid. I will also apoligize now for that quip about your intelligence, but I am slightly annoyed at the way you chose to phrase your reply, I added that about the armors because pre-07 the armors stacked, and I was not sure if you knew that they no longer did. I was not in any way denigrinating you, I only said it to try and help.

appreciate it, actually i found a better solution. I have an orb that gives +1 to shiver armor. I throw it on and cast it with my sheild, then just take it off and put temper back on. Saves me all the pre-reqs.

Or you could use a Warpspear gothic staff. 1 to lightning and energy shield and telekineses. There ya go you saved yourself 3 points, go get shiver armor!

Good idea, but i need telekineses anyways for teleport. And the orb with shiver armor only takes 2 spaces.

cuz otherwise youll get pwned by people with dwarf star rings or really really high fire resists.. like my other fire sorc was dueling this one guy and he absorbed all the damage i did cuz he had a 4 soc monarc with 4 p rubies...
