a logic puzzle u probaly can't solve
#1
Who Owns The Fish?

There are five houses in a row and in five different colours.

In each house lives a person from a different country.

Each person drinks a certain drink, smokes a certain cigar and keeps a certain pet.

No two people drink the same drink, smoke the same cigar or keep the same pet.

The Brit lives in a red house
The Swede keeps dogs
The Dane drinks tea
The green house is on the left of the white house
The green house owner drinks coffee
The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
The man living in the house right in the centre drinks milk
The Norwegian lives in the first house
The man who smokes Blends lives next to the man who keeps cats
The man who keeps horses lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill
The man who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer
The German smokes Prince
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

Albert Einstein claimed that 98% of the world couldn't solve this... i can't... can u?
#2
who cares anyways?
#3
ill solve it, give me a few minutes

the dane owns the fish

heres why: the nord lives in the farthest house on the right, the blue house is next to him, then the white house, then the red one. the dane smokes blends drinks tea and owns the fish because the nord owns the horses, and the man who drinks milk lives in the center and owns cats, the man who smokes pall mall lives to the left of the white house and he has birds, so the dane couldnt have the horses cats or birds, and the swede owns the dogs, therefore, the dane has the fish

so yeah im the 2% of the world that can solve this. i feel proud

Guess again, it's the German.

First means left, not right. Also, the green house is to the left of white, not red.

It goes:
Yellow----------Blue --------Red-------Green---------White
Norwegian ----- Dane ------ Brit ----- German ----- Swede
Water ---------- Tea -------- Milk ----- Coffee ------- Beer
Dunhill --------- Blend ------ PallMall - Prince --------Bluemaster
Cat ------------- Horse ------ Bird ----- Fish --------- Dog

Edited for formatting.

that doesnt work...... take a look at these i's and think of them as houses I I I I I count to the third I and stop. that is the white house. the green house is on the left of it
#6
You said the Nord was on the right, then the blue house, then white, then red.

I dunno where you got that white was in the middle.

It said the Nord lived in the first (left) house. Blue next to that. One of the following 2 houses (the 3rd and 4th from the left) has to be green. Green can't be the far left because the second house is blue, the last (right) house can't be green because green is on the LEFT of white. White has to be the far right or second to right.

Do you want me to continue to the end of the puzzle?>
#7
the first house doesnt always mean its the left house. its not a rule

and no dont bother continuing
#8
Well, my way DOES work. Go down the list and you'll see everything is true. I'll try it your way.
#9
come to think of it, i did think the german had the fish for starting, but then i tried working it out and now im not sure..... anyway my way probly wont work because its a bit hard to think when i only got 3 hours of sleep
#10
I know that feeling.
#11

It took me about 7-8 minutes to figure it all out and I got the same answer as Master C. Actually, I got the answer before Master C ever posted his answer but I forgot what my password was and after failing to type it in correctly the forum locked me out for 15 minutes. By the time that 15 minutes was up I forgot all about posting until just now. :-]

The German owns the fish, drinks coffee, smokes Prince and owns the 4-th green house. The Norwegian owns cats, drinks water, smokes Dunhill and owns the 1-st yellow house. The Dane owns horses, drinks tea, smokes Blends and owns the 2-nd blue house. The Brit owns birds, drinks milk, smokes Pall Mall and owns the 3-rd red house. The Swede owns dogs, drinks beer, smokes Blue Master, and owns the 5-th white house.

Edit- Damnit i just realised someone already solved it o well
