I was wondering what type of build would rush hell good but not be super expensive to make
So that probably leaves out all non sorc's cuz enigmas arent cheap
So...
I hear there is a meteorb sorc thats good.
I was wondering if that is the best build, and what the stat and skill points would look like.
thanks in advance

Static... Bleh. Combine lightning and fire and use fireball as main attack and chain lightning/lightning for fire immunes. Might work. I might try it tomorrow on single player.

Overall, you can't rush hell easy with a single character with just a sorc, even if it IS dual elemental, with cheap gear. Dual elementalists tend to have half the damage of each tree compared to single elementalists, while it will allow you the versatility to kill more monsters, it is much harder and takes much longer as well. And for the build to HAVE the damage needed, it would need lots of good gear. IMO, it would be cheaper to get an enigma and a HoTO and just make a hammerdin.

static is good for nm, dont use in hell, its straight ownage there but in nm its awesome, I rushed my self completely in nm with my lightning sorc using static on every monster and mass lighting bolt, I wouldn't suggest lighting sorc though, they really suck ***

Get a blizz sorc, with cheap gear u'll still do about 4k dmg with max bliz n synergy. And contrary to what you said, (those that disagree with static) static helps a shitload in hell and u only need to put 1 point into it. Go up to someone, static them and move back then blizz, or vice versa. But its hard, if not impossible to do hell by urself w/ a sorc. Thats why u need a merc.

For mercs, it is MUCH better to take the time to level up a merc from Norm, or if you want a different aura, from Act 2. Remember that hell mercs will always be 2 skill levels lower in their specialty skills compared to norm mercs. For example:
Level 71 Act 1 Norm Rogue Merc: Level 19 Fire arrow
Level 71 Act 1 Hell Rogue Merc: Level 17 Fire arrow
The only mercs not affected by this are the act 2 Nightmare mercenaries.

Lmfao!
Basically, that's the point. But if you wanna save some time, go for it! Just remember the fact that you're leveling a merc which will probably have no use in hard areas.

Ermm... No.
To put it simple, a merc from norm will ALWAYS be a step higher than NM or hell mercs (unless nm act 2).
Which merc is yours? if it's an act 2 NM one, I have nothing against it. And who cares if it can tank it. Meph is unleechable and Diablo will kill it if it had lower resists. I find this hard to believe.
