Things here are dying out...
#1
As expected, this site is dying. Everybody can see it. All the posts are either about bots and their problems, people wanting to trade, or off-topic idiotic posts about nothing that has any relevance with this world.

All my attempts in the past have sort of collapsed from underfoot as the mod team took a hit with CheshireCat's leave of absense. I'm not exactly sure when he will return for sure.

I've tried getting ideas out, but they have died as well. So I ask upon the members here to try to come up with new ideas. Remember, people can be persuaded to do new things *glances at Spitfire for a short second* and maybe we can get this site back up to the standards it used to set.

Post your good ideas here.
-(Notice that well respected members will be taken into consideration first)-

so this site was not suppose to b lik asking qs and stuff?
#3
Its not entirely based on asking questions and trading, but it seems as though all the new topics seem to be about those. getting godly. spoken from a noob, but an insightful one, a small suggestion is to encourage or enforce posting in forums non related to trading/botting/questioning. i was reading that Seadi story also, it seemes quite cool. and also, are there any competitions going that would help peaples D2 spirits up?
#4
The site is probably dying because Diablo II is getting older and older.

Maybe adding a new game to talk about would help. Thats about all I could think of.
#5
Graphics Contests (w/ prizes?)

Or you could add discussions about other games. Such as WoW or something, like said above.

I'll come up with more ideas later, too.. depending on what you think of these. :/ It might pick back up next season too. (shrugs) When items are back in demand, more people need rushes/leveling, etc.
#6
Its very sad to see The site dying, But i suggest pehaps another game, Maybe spice the layouts up, Contests, And maybe a Team SPECIFICALLY For noob questions, Which could be posted in a sub-forum for newbs.

I think u have discussions weekly regarding anything with diablo.
The history of diablo, what the gem in chatchannel does etc.
I know I love discussions at least : )
#9
why shouldnt the site have to do with asken questions and stuff the sites always active .. and i see they help everyone out, its like if u help you'll get back what yah did .. site runs well
#10
Its not about that they want to delete the questions about bots and etc, but they want to increase the other ones, the good ol'd ones.
#11
the way to slow up the questions about bots and stuff like that and zonfire 4 one thing haha u need to make stickys about each bot and stuff like that to slow up the posts on that i don't think u will never stop them but it could stop all the posts about it

it's really sad to know that, because i've noticed it as well, nubli, although on a slightly less prominent level...and i can't say that i've been completely aloof from the problem...i mean, i just recently felt like i knew what i was doing around here...i just recently felt like i'd gained some respect around here. i don't think we need any new threads in here, i.e. about new games or w/e...it's D2sector, for God's sake. isn't that why there's other sector forums? for different topics? i think that this could definitely remain solely diablo-oriented, but i agree that we'll see an increase with the new season...definitely, rushes, trades, etc. i can't wait...as it is, i'm content to hang out in the small talk section...there's never anything new in the Diablo section, and when there's nothing new, i just go and play d2...but it's sad to see, definitely...very mature of nubli to point this out, i think.

i dont think they should add another game cuz then they would have to change the site name from d2sector.net to like blizzgames.net

it would be a hassle more than a help. i think that they should have like a specific place for all stuff like bots place, and a trading place, then they should start a clan up a LEGIT clan and it would be really fun you like have to post once a day to stay in it or something thats insentive enuf to stay with the clan... w/e my ideas are pretty shitty but i tried

I was thinking of some sort of D2 Sector clan myself.. lol

Organize a legit clan for each ladder (West/East/Europe) and find somebody to head each. Then recruit a few members to get each realm going, and around 5-10 members per realm, start putting up basic requirements. E.g. (x) posts per day, 100+ posts, etc.

Then once it starts to grow more, make the requirements more difficult or stop taking applications altogether. Make it invite only//closed. :p

Only issue is that could create spam, because users will try and meet the requirements to get in. Not to mention, it'd be hard to filter out the scammers etc.. (if there's to be any free stuff involved.)

I still say graphics contests wouldn't be a bad idea.. or arrange for some other contest/tournament and then have prizes. (A small amount of free webspace, d2 item(s), points, etc.)

Clan could help promote the site too though. (Not necessarily w/ spam etc.. but it'd attract a couple more people if there was an organized guild associated with the site, imo) That brings in more people, which creates more discussion, and more activity.

Like I said, new ladder season is going to create some commotion as well. Especially if they introduce new runewords or any other interesting changes.

yea i was thinking of making a east ladderclan when it resets

DeStRuCtIoN Wrote:yea i was thinking of making a east ladderclan when it resets
I was considering making one today, so we have a solid group of people together by the time it resets and we can (possibly) work out some kind of strategy starting now.

(E.g., who's going to do MFing, who's going to do the rushing, and so on..)

(shrugs) I think a more "official" d2sector clan could be entertaining though. If the admins/mods are interested. :x

Wow....i dont want this site to die at all....i say get some new respectable better mods, make a new game section based on a vote, and make a guide secton devoted to thinks like this is how you use c3po maphack in side the guide section for example like make it a topic i mean like small talk is or graphics and people can post their own and shit that would be nice.

i definitly am noticing it too... i never see anyone on anymore but i def dont want this site to die...

i think that if you make forums bigger it will help in that more stuff to talk about i defintly think you should ADD some new arcade and stuff hmkmm no offense to mods but N U B L I is only one i ever see on and hes on alot but like pamela i rearely see on i really dont no why some of the mods here are even moding.... i really think well i dont no what the deal was with alfzz but i mean hes on just as much as N U B L I or even more and i mean he made 1 mistake i think he deserves a second chance.... also i think a new part of forums would help tooo lol i nevere really reply to anyshit anymore lol now that the sitew isnt as active im eding up gettting reps for not spamming LOL

I've seen this type of thread before...At times the site hits lowpoints, before sudden rebounds. Right now we don't have enough "cool" members to keep things booming. But the waves always hit their highs and lows. And I don't think this is the end of D2sector...
#20
this is just my 2 cents but anyway.....

for one adding new games besides Diablo on a site where the prime focus is Diablo won't help and doesn't make sense

2nd, new active mods with knowledge of the game and knowledge of modding a forum...mods need to keep trojans and viruses off the site, and keep people from posting crap (you know the kind of crap i'm talking about)...now i'm not talking about every mod being a super mod this site needs mods for individual section and let the super mods keep control of them

3rd, wether anyone wants to admit it or not you need an active admin
