No, it doesn't. It only increases the chance of finding magic items (the items in blue). It has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with uniques or rare. It's just an urban myth that people have gotten so used that they can't let it go.

Now, that doesn't mean you shouldn't have some mf... I guess. You could always find one of those godly socketed circlets.

there is a site on bnet that can tell u that more mf increases the chances of every item being found (except grey ones). this means more magic items, more rare items, more set items, and more unique items too. and no u cant overload mf, it just carries diminishing returns after a certain point.

ty silver. sayin mf does nothing is just flat out ridiculous. i have 750 mf on my sorc and just yesterday alone i found 2 arachs, 3 shakos, verdung, pcombat charm, 100pdsc, shadow gc, 49 wartravs, 3 rainbow facets, and eth sandstorms. soo.....once again i say. to say mf doesnt do anything is dumb. yes after a point it doesnt make much difference. it is pointless to have as much as i do because theres hardly a difference between 500 mf drops and 700mf drops besides really good rare items. 450-500 mf is about where it peaks for unique drops. KEYWORD: about. nobody knows this for sure, so its a stupid thing to argue about.

Baal can drop anything in the game. The best amount of mf to use is anywhere from 300-500 mf.

i read somewhere that after a certain amount of mf the drops start to get worse.......is that true? and if so what is it?
