Why such bad meph drops?

Ok I'm doing Meph runs with my sorceress, she has 441% MF and merc has 74% MF and I find horrible items....like I just found wormskull........why is it that im finding such bad drops?

sorry to let you down, and i'm presuming you're doing this in hell, but it's really entirely random. one run you may find a wormskull and a rattlecage one run, but then you might find an arachnid and a BK ring the next. it's entirely random and you can't really affect it that much with your MF%, but you've got the right number. keep it around 450, and keep trying. just yesterday, hell baal dropped a quiver of arrows and a mara's at the same time. explain that? you can't. just have persistance. hope that helps.

Well, if you set up a bot, you might find better. Whenever i set it overnight i find an arach and usually something else worth a 320+.

NOOOOOOO....I can't stand d2jsp mephing....I've done eveerything for it still won't work lol....and 2nd. What if your sorc is blizz and some onions are ice immune if you try doing baal....and your merc cant do it all alone?

I think he was talking about meph... but you would need like a mf barb to do baal lol or a zon...

I got 23maras and a bow gc mfing with meteor sorc ( 447%mf )......lol

Then, with hammerdin ( 135%mf ) I got 3/3 lite facet.....It's all luck man
( It took me about 100-110 runz to find facet )

A day or another, It's sure u gonna find something.....Good Luck!!!

one day i'll go do countess,meph,council nightmare runs and find crap like sigons next run I find an Um, Bonesnap and Tal's headgear. its all luck. I have....1% mf I think and thats not even on purpose.

The merc MF % doesn't take into count unless he/she kills the monster you wish to mf. But yes, it is all luck. That's why I don't like gambling, mfing is just so much more fun XD

If you can't beat hell monsters, then make a blizzsorc or hammerdin or something like that so it pwns meph easily.....

if u can't kill the minions (first, try static'ing them to take down their health). and then after that if u still can't kill them run southwest away from where baal is standing. the minions will run after you, and if you can lead them far enough away, baal will spawn the next set of minions. just tele back and hopefully the other guys won't follow you.

in terms of the whole MF issue, like every1 else said it's all luck. remember that MF is just a better chance of finding magic items, not necessarily that you will find them all the time. luck has the biggest factor out of all of this, so jsut keep doing runs and one day you'll get lucky and find the item of your dreams...

Like i havent found nething last week and this week i alrdy found a eth 5 soc runemaster an arach and a couple of other odd items...its just all luck

In a nut shell, break it up. Don't just rely on MEPH to get you the good items. Or even half-a$$ good items. Try doing it from the top down "if you can" and then work back up on the next game. Like this. Act V: Baal/Eldritch/Shenk(horrible spelling sorry) Act III: Meph/Trav Act I: Andy/Countess/PIT. Yeah your looking at about 6-8 minutes per complete run, but theres a lot of high lvl killing there with a chance to drop the best in the game. All about PATIENCE

Also chaos i love how you cant kill "onions" lol. Good stuff. MF% doesnt mean the more mf the higher quality items, its the chance you will get uniques.
