He's saying they are wannabe punks. True punks were about anarchy, rebllion, and staying away from the crowd. The new punks ARE the crowd so their ideals have died and they have become what they tried to avoid.

Also punkers don't really listen to Metallica or Pantera...those are clearly under metal. Most punk is played on two chords and is very very very repetitive...both Metallica and Pantera are much more complex than any punk band.

Hurly, Cowboys from Hell and A Vulgar Display of Power are the best Pantera albums. I suggest you get those.

I would go with CFH, just because it's an album that got me listening to all the music I listen to today. Cowboys from Hell would be the way to go.

uh do you want punk/rock or just punk or just rock. Pantera is consider "hard" rock. Metallica borders on heavy metal/metal and "hard" rock. I dont know who the other band is. But Metallica is just...GREAT. Especially older albums like Garage, Riding the Lightning, Master of Puppets. Pantera is good but alot harder than Metallica is most of the time.

I prefer old school punk as oppposed to the new alternative punk. Same goes for metal and rock. I like Judas Priest, Poison, AC/DC, Van Halen(SP?) and things along those lines. The newer rock like Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Slipknot and the like just dont do it for me like the old school metal ballad bands and rock. They dont get my blood pumping and my heart racing and make me want to hand bang till I pass out.

The only metal thats gotten better really scine the 70-80's is death metal and black metal. I thoroughly enjoy alot of the new death metal bands that have come out along with the black metal bands. But thats some pretty heavy shit and once you hear it you either like or dont bottom line.

Get some ska into that mix, and you'll be able to mosh/skank to music.

Screw Ska. Nobody wants to see the Misfits with trumpets.

Well thats your opinion, the mistfits are a shitty ska band too.

Correction, misfits are a shitty band, but they're not ska.

All ska really is, is punk with a few trumpet blasts in it. I find it really boring - I'll never get into it.
