Smite Shield x_X

I gave an "um" rune and the upgrading formula for the whole gris set and the shield had "um and 2x dimond" in it. The set had max socket. I putted 3x Pul in armour to get high defence and 2x shael in helm. 4x Eth in weapon, dunno why.

i think using an eth upped hoz for 47-47 smite dmg rather then 5-87 will kill people easier......but then again ive never used a smiter before.

if your lucky and get however many smites it takes and have 80+ a smite, gris will be better. but them odds are slim.

i'm assuming we are discussing pure smiters only.

full gris set = +5 to all skills (partial set bonuses included)

astreon + coa + uped hoz + enigma = +5 all skills, +6 combat

now explain to me how a gris setup is better than that?

if your a really lucky person or you get lucky in a few duels, then griz shield would be better..

Your Smite will be slow, don't use Dracs.

Dracs and gore makes a good combo in the "Open Wound" category. Its really usefull. Get other items that also adds open wounds, and your off :p

kingslayer is a pretty good smiter weapon too...33% cb, 50% ow, 30% ias.

regarding the point about getting lucky with gris shield. u're still better off with a rare vortex shield with +2 pally skills and block mods.

azn, do you know how to calculate the dmg added to smite from grief? i was thinking of useing grief for a glass-cannon smiter, for the hell of it.

grief's dmg is added to ur base shield smite dmg. say u have a 400dmg grief and uped hoz (46-46 dmg). ur base smite dmg without holy shield is 446-446. with a lvl 40 holy shield (137-140 dmg), that totals up to 583-586 base smite dmg. let's say u have a lvl 40 smite (600%ed), lvl 27 fanat (492%ed), and 180 total str (180%ed), ur final smite dmg is now 7999-8040. whether u're a glass cannon or not, grief is the obvious choice if u're on ladder.

i've know someone who did the smite dmg calcs with fortitude armor and phoenix shield. the dmg was nearly 12k.

wow, that's a massive amount of damage. nice calculations, azn. i once thought grief was kinda pointless, i mean what's 400 damage compared to thousands of damage? but now i know, as in attack rating, that it's added before they do all of the %. so it's a lot higher. thanks for that, aznavatar.s

in my front thing it says non ladder .. any ways wouldnt you need attack rating for charge?

Wow, I use griz shield, it ****ing owns ubers and most anyone in a duel. In my opinion exile is a waste, having dracs does NOT make your smiter shitty. +102 all res with p diamonds, if i used um's then 108, how is exile better? ... It's just waste of time/and 'money'. And Grief is a MUST for ANY smiter, phase blade grief is best for the incredible speed, and no repairs.
