Hello everyone!
Sorry for the long title. My name is Christian Fredriksson and I live in Gothenburg, Sweden. I've been playing Diablo for quite some time now, and I've been reading the forum here at D2 Sector for almost as long.
Now I've decided to create my first ladder character, and because it's my first ladder character, I don't have access to any special or unusual items.
So what I basically need are suggestions for character builds that can work pretty much on their own, without any special or unusual items, until somewhere around late Nightmare. Depending on how the character then evolve, I'll either turn it into a magic finder, or start dueling.
My first idea was something along the line of Summoning Druid, or perhaps Necromancer, but you might have some other ideas.

Trust me...everytime u make a new char...on ladder or first time playin d2..make a mfer...get her to lv 80 and start mfing...she might be wearin full sigons...but she shud be able to survive her way through lv 2...just tele and avoid monsters...
U slowly find items that increase mf...then u got her started..
I just mfed a 15/15/13/fireball ormus yesterday...was so excited

Well startin ull feel dam boring mfing the whole day...and mayb find shit the whole time..after 3-4 hours mayb nothing worth keeping[doubt that tho..]
But tolerance is the key here =)
Doesnt matter even if u found a low item...like 30 war trav...just presevere...=)

AlfzZz hit it right on the nose a Bliz or Fireball sorc mid lvl 80's and then lots of runs on meph to get half a$$ items and dont leave andy or the countess which the countess at times can suck, because she is immune to cold here and there.

i got a lvl 81 fb sorc, and when i go down to kill countess, shes always fire immune and when my uncle kills her she is always cold immune, why?

Summoner takes forever to kill....takes time to summon...
And countess is ALWAYS immune to cold and fire in hell fyi =)
Cau get a blizz sorc...its the best mfer out there...fire sorc might work but ull rely more on fb...meteor's too slow...blizzard sorc only needs blizz to kill :p:

Hmmm, is there a reason for why most people suggest either Fire or Cold Sorceresses for magic finders? Why not something like a Bone Necromancer, or Druid?
It's probably some obvious point that I have missed.

The main point is a little thing called "Teleport".
If a character dont have it, then its a bad MF`er.
You will need a enigma if you gonna use all other characters than sorceress, and as you probably know, enigma requires Jah and Ber, wich is very high runes.
How many players start their new career with an enigma? :drunk:
Fireball sorceress can do huge damage without any special gear, and have a heavy damage attack called meteor wich you can cast on mephisto everytime you throwed 2 fireballs.
Blizzard deliver slow mut real heavy attack if you used cold mastery.
If you shoud happen to get an enigma, bone necromancers or hammerdins will be good boss slayers and do mf.

Okay, so maybe we need to have a: What is the best mf'er if you have an Enigma/Tele ability? Then what would you go with? I would definitely go with hammerdin, can kill everything really quick and takes punishment. Oh and haha what immunities!

Sure, Teleport is needed if you're going up against Mephisto or Andariel, but I'm not so sure about Unique monsters such as Pindleskin. He spawn very near Harrogath so not an awful lot of running is required.
Oh well, I'm probably wrong, as usual.

if you dislike sorc's as much as some people do you are more than welcome to persever through the game with a pally or some such...just make sure to pump a point into charge so you can get to bosses faster later on.
