Necro Block Rate

I am just confirming..... Should i give my necro max block rate, I have 150 spare stat points, i'v added all to vit and to nothin else, should i get enough dex for max bl????

If one of my character use a shield, I give him/her max block. But that's just me...

I wouldn't do it. Only chars that are casters that should have MB is sorcs who use es/telek and tank melee. Thats my personal opinional.

depends what shield u're using. personally, i think the blocking chance on a high blocking shield is wasted if i don't put it to use. if the blocking on the shield is low, then it's a big waste of dex. maxing block gives u a better chance against melee, but then again, u should be teleporting out of the way instead of standing there or running around. against bowazons, i really don't know what u'd do without blocking. u'll be spending all ur time dodging guided arrows rather than attacking if u had no blocking.

bone armor break off in no more than 2 hits. considering how fast guided arrows go, it's unlikely u'll be able to recast it.

Max block if you intend to duel. Don't max block if you go against monsters?

let's just say it really depends who u're fighting. if u duel a lot of ww barbs, ww asns, bowazons and other bow users, max blocking. if u're usually dueling casters or some other classes, put those points in vit.

well i dont think u shoudl max block personally, u should have a pretty good bone armor for 1-2 hits, and u should also be able to tele attack fast enough not to get hit.

due to the way guided arrows behave, each one u dodge is one more u'll have to look out for in the next 0.5 seconds. i suppose u could deal with that if u're very good at teleporting (i know i'm not). one wrong move though, u'll get hit by one arrow, which knocks u back, and then all the other arrows come and turn u to swiss cheese.

another thing...what if the zon uses multiple shot instead? i suppose u could try to time her shots and teleport over the waves, but what if her attack speed is very high (looks at faith)? better yet, what if she fires at an uneven rate to make it even harder for u? with <2k def and virtually no blocking, ur only way to win is to spam bone spears from afar, and even those she'll likely evade or just sidestep.

Chance to Block

Total Blocking = [(Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)]

Blocking = A total of the Blocking on all of your items. (E.g: Guardian Angel, Twitchthroe, Any Shield, Holy Shield)
[] = Round Down

Note: Blocking on shield shown in game is capped at 75% while it may actually be higher. For a true account of most shields blocking ability... Look here forUnique, Set, and Magical/Rare shields. (for magical/rare, add the Blocking % from the suffix to the base blocking)

Note 2: Block chance is divided by 3 after the 75% cap. You can't block more than 25% when running.

Example: A lvl85 Paladin with 100 Dex, Guardian Angel(20%), lvl20 Holy Shield (35%) and a Herald of Zakarum(82%).

Total Blocking = [(Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)]
= (20 + 35 + 82 * (100 - 15)) / (85 * 2)
= (20 + 35 + 82 * (85)) / (85 * 2)
= (20 + 35 + 82 * (85)) / 170
= (20 + 35 + 82 * (85)) / 170
= (137 * 85) / 170
= 11645 / 170
= 68.5
= 68% Chance to Block

Necros don't get much life, I didn't put anything for block on mine and he'slvl 85. I put 5 points on str and 5 poitns on energy and he only gets about 1065 life (2k with bo) I'd say don't max block, because you're not going to stand still and let a barb ww through you, even with max block you'll still die. You wait until they tele (barbs have slow cast) and then tele away from that spot and spam spirits.

there's the problem with that...
if u wait until he teles, he will cut u to ribbons. here's why:

a necro with 75% fcr casts at 10 frames. a necro with 125% fcr casts at 9 frames.

a barb with 0% fcr casts at 13 frames. yes, that is slow, but take a look at this...

a barb's WW is 4 fpa. this means that u will not be able to react fast enough to his WW right after he teleports, regardless of how much fcr u have. ur only chance to avoid his WW would be to tele all over the place, hoping that he will not catch u on his screen and telewhirl u.
