No, then people would flame and close the thread so no one had a chance to defend themselves.

OOO good point Tongue

How about make the closing part for certain parts in the forum, like d2 discussuion, bots, hacks cause usually when you post something like a guide it gets spammed.

That would require too much coding, it would be a pain in the ***.

The ability to delete ones own thread would be good but the ability to close would prove to be a bad idea in the end. I can see people abusing that in the first five minuets of it being allowed.

I will support the idea of allowing people to delete their own threads. I don't see how that will hurt the site.

Nah... You can't spend points on it because of all of the rich members. =P I think it's more of a mod thing. Regular members shouldn't be allowed to close/open. What would a mod become if that happened? Besides moving threads and editing posts and deleting threads/posts.

I don't see the delete own post thing as a bad idea though. I've accidently double posted before and wished i could delete my post.

I don't think either would be a good idea. Both of them would cause too many problems IMO.

Because everyone is just making Illegal threads like crazy eh? They can still see which threads are deleted...
I just think you should be able to delete ur own posts on certain conditions. Double posting is one. And to be able to delete ur own u need say 1k posts 2 rep bars and like 4 months+ Forum time. Would make sense because sometimes lag or internet issues cause doubles etc. Or maybe you ask something and some1 answers it right after u create.

Why couldn't we just post somewhere that we made a double post and an admin/mod could just come and clean it up? I know it's more trouble then just clicking a button and getting rid of it, but I still don't see a reason to give people the ability to delete their own posts.

i think its up to the mods to think about, its not our descision, well kind of, they should have a pool on this. i agree with chesire on this one, ppl might be pussies and hurry up and close the thread so they wont get made fun of.

Not only that but, they spam a thread get a grip of points then close the thread.
