Smiters are too powerful?

Barb's def might not go over 40k...maxing shout might not...if using a bugged nigma/arreats/ss...and with max iron skin...yea...:p

With bugged items, even a Sorceress can have over 40'000 defence. :p

Paladin Werebears, without Shout, can reach close to 70'000 defence using the Defiance aura on an Exile, and over 80'000 defence with his own Defiance aura. Now you know.

lol no way sorce could have over 40k defence without massing strenth or somthing, if you were able to atain this 40k defence on a sorceress you were either on open bnet or you did nothing for spell damige and had low life and mana

but sorceresses dont realy need defence, the point isent to get hit at all and also defence doesent matter when fighting against casters

Smiters are not to powerful. You can kill them pretty well if you know how too.

Well, I don't think smiters should classify as melee in the first place, because when you smite the other person can't attack you with the fhr hit. I haven't seen any smiter half as good as you said in the first post.

i geuss it depend on what kind of smiter ur facin and what char. u have i always got royaly took by my friends smiter he was lvl 72 and destroyed a lvl 85 sorc. ( the sorc desereved to die she was in off to bad

Of course there is no legit way for a Sorceress to have above 40'000 defence, but as I said:

Correct, but a Paladin's own Defiance aura is at a higher level than the one on Exile, hence providing more defence.

Let me set the picture, most Smiters have crazy resistance, and the good developed ones are over Level 90 and have well over 40'000 defence. They have maxed Smite, Fantaticism, Holy Shield and Defiance (Synergy to Holy Shield). Many use a Offensive Act II Mercenary for Might, equiped with the Doom Rune Word for Holy Freeze.

The good ones tend to use an Ethereal Exile which not only has Life Tap, but well over 1000 Defence (which is further increased by its Defiance Aura). As for weapon, Grief seems to own everything and everyone, by making sure that each smite does over 10'000 damage. Enigma is a popular armor among many Smiters, for Teleport and its bonus to Strength, Fortitude is also powerful it's added bonus to damage.

So there you have it, a Smiter can have maxed resistance, over 40'000 defence, Life Tap for constant healing, Holy Freeze for slowing people down, and on top of that, an unblockable attack that hits 95% of the times, each hit doing over 10'000 damage.

Seeing as I'm not an experienced dueler, I don't know whether or not my statement is actually correct, but I claim that Smiters are too powerful. They seem to dominate every melee duel, and it has even gone so far that some duel games won't even allow the use of Smite.

What's your opinion?

...they aren't that great. Any ranger character can own them up (unless you try like a ranger necro lol wtf?) as long as you're rich.

The thing about guided and spirit[bone] is that they cant reach the char if the char keeps teleing...yes...even at the same spot...
And most smiters only duel melee like zealot/ww sin/barbs..

yeah smiters own meele...but can have some trouble w/ range attackers...unless your using enigma or have fast run...or you can just swith to charge then back to your aurora

make left click as charge...charge to the opponent...name lock till it misses then smite their as.s...
