Well guys tupac is a legend. His music was so real, he rapped about the truth in life, and what stuff really went on. He didn't sit there and rap about what color underwear he was gonna wear tommorow, like most of these new moron rappers do, LOL ! That sounds very dumb, but hey i don't know what to say because its the truth! Some of these rapper get paid to do not a damn thing but lip sink, which coimes out to be very rediculous!!!

But its true, he is dead.. i seen pics of his atopsy.. his worlds done with but will always be remembered because he was a true rapper that had talent and so forth!!! :-D:-D:-D

I would like to take the effort to inform you that mainstream rap doesn't exactly take a lot of skill. If I had the time and the backing, I could probably come up with rhymes as good as some 'moguls' out there. I don't have a whole lot of respect for the 'rap' system seeing as talking fast and remembering to say the lyrics that are fed to them through a wireless communicator is all they've got to do at a concert. It's just annoying, really. Listen to it if you want to, just don't try to say that it's a skillful business.

yes i agree. ur just being ignorant cuz ur some "rocker". ur just not brave enough to admit that rap is AT LEAST decent. noooo u have to say its a piece of sh**
#26
Eh,come on people.Don't be hating other peoples' type of music, that's like discrimination.I myself, think rap is awesome.Though I still respect other peoples' music as well. And if it wasn't a skillful business, why do they make billions while you,the person who says,"It's not a skillful business, and I can do better,"Is making way less money than they are?
#27
Let me repeat myself, if I had the time and the backing (i.e. a whole slew of highly-paid writers), then I could write you a rap song. Don't get me wrong, I've got a lot of respect for free-stylers, coming up with these things off the top of the head and making them actually sound decent. But mainstream rap, with practically a board where you push a button and it makes a desired sound, isn't appealing to me. Additionally, I'm going to be doing something that easily surpasses standing on stage and talking fast, I'll eventually be playing a bass guitar. And even if I'm not going to be on stage in front of thousands, and honestly that's a one-in-a-million chance anyway, it'll be so much harder than rap. So you really can't disrespect 'rockers'.

Also, I called it an unskilled business in that the live shit is simple. I respect anyone who can make that much money doing so little, but rap music in general doesn't deserve a whole lot of respect from me, at least.

EDIT: Oh yeah, bravo, Silent.. You made a poker allusion, good for you.

I can agree with that to an extent. Morons like 50 Cent and the Game, and all of G-Unit are jokes. Their raps are weak, their disses are weak, their characters are weak, and they ALL make their career off of negative shit. They're mainstream too.

Then again, you have mainstream rappers like Nas, Jay Z, Jada Kiss, and even Fat Joe.. hell, I can even honestly say I respect Twista. He's fast and original. Nas is a legend, period, end of story. Illmatic.. what a great album. The best mainstream hiphop album EVER imo, rivaled by some of Jay's work.. Jada and Fat Joe totally wrecked G-Unit and 50, and then 50 Cent came back with the wack track "I Run New York" which basically admits defeat on many turfs. The only thing he runs is a dream world inside his head. He's a manufactured success, thanks to Eminem and Dre.

Then, you have underground rappers. Aseop Rock, Sage Francis.. those two are all I really need to list. Once you get on Aseop or Sage's level, you aren't even considered a rapper anymore. You're above that lame label.

Yeah, I agree with the fact that this topic has strayed too far from the main idea. Close please. =D

... No.

Don't call it spam. No to all rap. No. You can't get me to respect a bunch of dumb****s who think they know what the **** they're talking about. They're all dumb. I mean like book dumb. You can't get me to respect someone who doesn't have 2 shits of an IQ. **** that, they suck.

and how are rockers any smarter? just because u like rock doesnt mean u have to keep saying shit about rap. no ones making u like it
