Lightning Sorc, i need help!

Hey, i traded my MF stuff off my pally for a lightning sorc staff, +1 to all skills ammy, and some other thing, i forget. I wanna build a lightning sorc because they rock in cows, i've seen people own with them. I was wondering what's good to put skill points into. My staff adds +1 to all skills, then +3 to lightning, +2 to chain lightning, or something like that. I know Ice sorcs are the best and blahda blah, i want mine to be different. Sooo.... anyone got any good suggestions for points.

Well, I'm not sure what all in all you'll want for lightning, but you need to max lightning storm/lightning mastery. The rest is open for discussion.

I know for sure i'm going to max lightning (my staff adds +4 and my ammy adds +1) and lightning mastery. I'm gonna go check up and see how much damage that would do. I actually like lightning more than cold, even if it isn't better. The only thing that sucks is the damage can be 1

Ok, i just checked the sorc guide.... i'm not sure what damage would be though. I dont' care if im not hitting for thousands of damage, i just wanna be able to kill stuff! I was thinking

*Lightning Mastery

That should be some pretty good damge, i think.

The lightning storm attack will only attack one enemy at a time. So if you're in a cow lvl, and get surrounded by a horde of them, then you're screwed. So if you wanna be pure lightning, you should add some to nova at least. And maybe a few into Warmth, because nova is very draining in the Mana department.

Does anyone know what the strongest lightning attack is? Chain lightningg might be cool for cows, but all the lightning attacks seem so weak..... Grr.. maybe i should follow the crowd and make an ice. Idk, i like lightning better though! I just can't figure out a way to make a powerful attack.

Lightning is very strong... nova has the best gap damage... While lightning and chain lightning do more damage, they also have a huge damage gap. (i.e. 4-1000 as opposed to 700-1000)

It's a tough decision, I used to have lightning/cold but they suck now so whatever.

Max Light Chain and all syengeries And mastery. Lightning is a Syenergy IIRC for chain.

K thanks shadow. Lightning sucks for the fact that you can hit for 1, but i just like lightning better. Im not a big competitive Diablo person, i just play for S & G's, so i make crappy characters that are appealing to me. My caster necro is turning out pretty good though.
