Some of you have already read my guide which is in the Assassin Guides section of the Character Development/Guides forum. I've made some changes.
The new build is aimed at more extreme domination vs. Casters and a little more of a chance vs. melee opponents.
This build is Weapon/Shield, not like the previous build using C/C.
So, let's get started on one of the largest differences - gear.
Gear:
Helm - Andariel's Visage *socket with 'Um'
Armor - Guardian Angel *socket with 'Um'
Weapon - 'Beast' runeword *use Twin Axe, Ettin Axe, Berserker Axe, Caddy... Most anything works that's fast enough.
Shield - Sanctuary and Stormshild *use SS for melee, Sanctuary for Casters.
Belt - Arachnid's Mesh/Trang-Oul's *a personal opinion required here. Trang's is a good idea since it gives 'Cannot be Frozen.'
Gloves - Trang-Oul's *poison damage increase.
Boots - Shadow Dancers/Upped Gores *you MUST obtain Shadow Dancers if you are NL
Rings - 2x BK/Absorb rings/Angelics *depends on your opponent.
Amulet - Mara's/Angelic/Rare *depends on your opponent.
Skills:
You're gonna need these! (joke, but not really)
Venom - 20 *venom is a must for any melee Assassin.
Dragon Talon - 20 *your main attack... duh.
Fade - 20 *PDR and resistances. this prevents you from having to use Dungo's and gives you 90-95 all resistances.
Shadow Master - 1-20 *i like maxing it. shadows rock. personal preference here.
BoS - 1+ *i personally wouldn't touch this skill, but whatever floats your boat.
Dragon Flight - Rest into this.
Improvements include the following...
- Much higher resistance potential
- Greater damage
- Possibly more life, depends on gear choices
Disadvantages (compared to the C/C build) follow...
- No claw block *i personally don't find this necessary with 90-95 all resists and potential absorb
- Not as much Crushing Blow/Open Wounds
