Internet Connection Speed
#1
I'm not much of a computer person, so can anyone tell me if 6224 kilobit download speed is good? My dad told me to check at pcworld, and thats what it said. Any help would be appreciated.

That's pretty good. That's like 6mb/s. Which is pretty good.

byte=8 bits
6224 kilobit=6224000 bits
6224000/8=778000 bytes
778000 bytes=778 kilobytes

Download speed= 778 Kilobytes per second. Or about 3 times faster than regular DSL, 2 times faster than a slow cable connection. What is this line, T1 or something? I hope you all understood ^^ that.

wow thanks for the reply foog, it really cleared things up for me. It is a standard cable connection from Comcast, but since my dad works there he gets some special benefits and we get it for free.

Oh, thought it said kilobyte... Yeah, forget what I said. =\

8 bits to a byte. Do the math.

Dipshit, I did the math.
