The new Pope is an ex-Hitler Youth, not by choice, but because they were all forced to. I'm sure if he was a sick and demented Nazi, he wouldn't have gotten this far. My only concern is that, seeing as he's like 74, we'll be picking another Pope soon. -_-

When liquid said conservative I don't believe he was refering to any political aspects. The new Pope, Pope Benedict XVI is infact conservative in the fact or church reforms and keeping an open mind. He is very firm on his beliefs such as not letting women hold church offices, on the subject of abortion and has spoke against people who believe that other religions besides Catholism can lead to salvation (I don't recall the correct word for it). Pope John Paul II was coined conservative but still had an open mind for the world's problems. The worry with Pope Benedict XVI is that he will keep to his church principles as definite (very conservative) and will be oblivious to the ever changing world. I don't think he was talking political power, just to tell you Foog and B!tch


Edit: Not to argue, but Tool how can you think that what the Pope does, although he is in Europe, will have no effect on him. He is head of the Catholic Church. Over one billion people are of the Catholic faith. Catholism is not confined to Europe. What the Pope does effects Catholics everywhere.

while the pope has no official political power, he is still the head of one of the most powerful religions in the history of mankind. as a leader, he has the power to influence the decisions of millions of people. if you or i say we favor abortion, no one would care very much. if the pope said he favored abortion, that would shake the foundations of pro-life organizations everywhere. it could be likely that the opinion of the pope could convert a majority of pro-lifers to pro-choice. that is why the pope holds a lot of political power in the world. with his position, people tend to want to imitate his opinions
