Oh man, I leave to try FFXI, and look what happens, someones already looking for a build without any help.

Barb!

Basic Whirlwind Barb (hard to screw up with a lack of items)

Stats!

Vit : 45% of stat points
Dex: 35% of stat points
Str: 20% of stat points
Ene: 0% of stat points

Skills!

-)Max Weapon Mastery of your choice (a good idea is to max a 1 handed weapon skill)

-)Max Whirlwind (duh)

-)Max Berzerk (or Concentrate, if you wish)

-)Max Battle Orders

-)1 point in all prerequisits

-)1 point into warcry

-)1 point into Battle Command

-)1 point into all non-weapon related masteries (i.e: Stoneskin or Natural Resistance) though you may want to put more into these skills once you max Whirlwind, your weapon mastery, Berzerk, and Battle Orders.

Items!

You want to go with a 1 handed weapon because a shield is the single most important piece of armor a barb can wear. Besides the obvious defense bonuses, with high dex, you will have 75% blocking, which is equal to 75% damage reduction. Its like wearing 2 and a half shaftstops... in your hand!

I could recommend a sword for whirlwind, but I wont for two reasons. 1) I dont like cookie cutter characters. and 2) Swords are expensive. Your safest bet is to buy/find a rare war axe / naga with 300%+ damage, and upgrade, then use that. My barb uses a 402% ed (rare) Berserker Axe and it owns as well as any GF.

Speed is an important factor, the faster you swing, the less time you give your enemy to hurt you, which means (guess what?) More Damage Reduction! If you kill them first, they will hit you less, so you take less damage!

Defense is an important factor when choosing armor, very much more now in 1.10. I suggest ( if your poor ) an upgraded Silks of the Victor, or any runeword you like. Except enigma. That Runeword is the Devil himself. If you are rich, then go with Chains of Honor runed armor, or Upgraded Shaftstop for even more damage reduction.

Ok, thats about it for my build suggestions. Your welcome in advance.

i wouldnt put ne in warcry and a gf isnt expensive, coh costs as much as enigma, and gf is like 3 290s. concentrate is better than berzerk in duels cuz it gives huge def bonus so they wont hit u while u swing

Hey, Im used to playing Ladder, in which GF's arent "cheap" and 290's are non existant. Also, warcry is your saviour when your in the worldstone keep lvls. Combine warcry and taunt now you cannot be touched by those damn Burning Souls. Berzerk is mainly for boss killing and killing immunes. Concentrate is a skill that either you love or hate, I personally like it, but not everyone understands its utility.
