With the warning system, you get points for reviving a dead thread. But wouldn't it be easier to close threads over 1-2 weeks old. Then there would be no problem of reviving. Its just a suggestion, i just don't want to not notice the date and end up getting banned. If you need more mods for just that purpose, i would volunteer myself.

You have 88 posts, you won't get a mod position. Mods aren't able to keep track of all dead threads. Plus ones that are 1 - 2 weeks old might still be open for discussion.

Why not make it automatically lock old threads unless they are stickied, that would save moderators some time and members wouldn't have to check the dates all the time. Checking dates isn't exactly a big thing but if you use the search feature the date might easily go unnoticed and you end up reviving an old thread.

Well, we wouldn't have problems if people didn't go back to maybe the 10th page of old threads. And yeah, you're kinda over ambitious to be asking for a mod position. The supermods here do their job well here.

You dont usally get a warning for reviving a old thread, but threads that are 30 days old with no new posts are auto closed

A) there is nothing wrong with being ambitious. And just because of only 88 posts doesn't mean i don't know what happens in the forums. i've been here like 1/2 a year. don't count me as a noob
B)If there is something like that now, i don't seem to notice it. its not the best. We need a new system.
C) When did you guys get the idea to flame me? I'm doing my best to make this site a better place.

Good luck getting a mod spot with 90 posts. All mods have at least 500.

what alfzzz said is correct, beggars caint be choosers (yes caint).
1) plz dont increase the number of threads being closed in any way whatsoever.
2) dont give out warning posts for reviving "dead" threads, make the time 3 weeks not one month.

Ah thats good, so basically you cant revive an old thread by accident.
<hr>
My 10 cents about moderating: moderating isn't something fun and exiting, moderators have allot of responsibility as setting an example for all members, they have to be neutral, sometimes a mod has to warn or even ban friends etc.
Moderating is serving the community and keeping things organised

but the thing is, that only works after a month or so. ive been told (before the new system) that i revived a dead thread after a week. a month is too long. THAT'S the problem

no offence to any of my posts here..
Mods are being chosen by other mods/admins when they see uve contributed enuf to this site...giving guides...helping others...etc etc..
Volunteering wont get u anywhere....every member can volunteer too lol..
Im speaking as the authority of a ex-super moderator
