Over used render, horrid boarder. Try doing this
Create a new layer
control A
Stroke 3 pixels black
Stroke 2 pixels white
Stroke 1 pixel black
Then go to blending options and play with it.

Xamine, that flame on his hand would be hard to make, so I have no douts that you are good at photoshop but, if all you have is a render, background, and text then its never gunna get a good rating. Just blend the pics or somthing. The render modification I give 10/10, but the sig overall is a 7/10. Even if you made those brushes yourself, it does'nt mean that it will get a better score than if you used somone elses brushes.

Also, I know thats not the only way to make borders, but it's the easiest way.

Look at that piece of crap, all it is; is a render, background, and text. You cannot call that a sig.

Unless you blend and make things work togather its not gunna be good. Sure the colors kinda match on yours, but you didint do much to blend it in with the background or anything. I'm not flaming so dont get mad, I actually complemented you on the fire.

I'm not saying I make the most perfict pieces of art in the world, so don't think that either.

Whenever I try somthing and its not working for me I look for ways of making it better, but your doing the same thing over and over.

acually that sig isnt all that bad, thats a style called simple and is a very uniqe and is a good teqniue if you can do it right

Wow I didint even try, it only took about .5 seconds to put togather.

I must have seriusly diffrent opinions on art or somthing because those sigs he was making don't apeal to me at all.

To the one pixel stroke thing: Yes, I do that in a way.
I just do a one pixel glow with opacaty of 100% and 100% fill. Look at the quote in my current sig. A diffrent way of doing it but you get identical results.

I dont know what you mean by I over used render. But I did the stroke thing, is it any better.

meh strokes make the text pixelated, i recomend putting a drop shadow on instead of that, but put on 1 or the other because you get a white stroke there the black stroke and the shadow joins.


anyway simplicity is a good style, sometimes its good with a gradient and a couple vectors

BTW i been designing about 3 years :cool4: so the stuff i design is way diffrent because i try other things, instead of doing the things i was doing a year ago

I know I know, no render. But rate it with out a render in it. I am going to put a render in it soon, just rate it and tell me if there good for renders.

The top one is very good could make a 10/10 sig, the bottem one is ok, but I dont like those white spots.

I've been making sigs on and off for a year or so.

By overused render he means that too many people use it in their signatures.

put the render layer beneath the border. the border ought to always be on top of everrrrrything else. other than that it's very good. your best yet. Just work on text---try some new fonts, set the color to white and put a default drop shadow on it- also a 50% black 1 px stroke on the text. maybe set it to overlay or soft light.

sarcasm- the only thing i don't like is that your text always seem so dark. you add some wacky blending option to it that makes it too dark. other than that, i guess it's a compliment that it's foog style. why?
