Item upping question

I saw a guy with an upped breast plate enigma, but from what people have told me it isn't possible to up runeword items. If it is, can someone give me the recipe for upping a breast plate enigma?

all you have to do is take the breast plate with the three sockets, and upgrade it to a great hauberk..with the recipe at http://www.battle.net/diablo2exp

and THEN make it into an enigma, dont add the runes til you've upped it.

Just a quick question, are u sure he didn't just find a great hauberek (sp?) and then just make a nigma out of that? 'Cause I don't remember there being a recipe for upping normal items...

u saw wrong!. there is no recipie for upping runeword items. otherwise everyone would have ebotd nagas and then simply up them to zerkers. therefore, the price of an eth zerker would drop dramatically.
