I think this woman is dumb to have been doing drugs in the first place, but she is actually pretty smart to sell her baby because if you look at it, she can be a sleep with men for money and if she gets a baby she can sell it since she doesn't know who the father is anyway. Well overall I think this woman deserved to go to jail. I mean who likes people who sell their own child?

Wow...didn't think of it that way. Well, she should have put her kid up for adoption or not had a kid at all.

The baby would most likely be addicted to drugs too since the mother uses drugs, unless she didn't use it when she had the baby. Still it sucks for the baby because it didn't do anything yet it has to go through life with all his mom's problem

How and Why the hell would the "baby" be addicted to drugs in his/her's life. The baby could be born with birth defects though.

Drugs aren't bad, just the people that abuse them are. The woman will probobly go to rehab and pay the 5000 fine. Midgetjediyoda, whats so "f-ed" about it the punishment or that its happening?

actually babys born from mothers who are cronic drug users are usually addict as well. The reason being is because the mother and baby share everything and the placent(SP?) does not shield the baby from the drugs, such as crack or heroin. My mother use to work in the nursery and she has seen quite a few babys who are dependent on drugs because the mother used while pregnant.

What would happen if the baby did not recieve its drugs?. In my experience when parents use drugs (around the child) it usually puts their children off that drug (this is with heavy use) like smoking and drinking. By placent you mean Placenta.

Yeah, Sinner beat me to the punch. Haven't you ever heard the term 'crack baby'? Yeah, that's where it comes from.

I saw one of those on T.V before. They seem to cry and wiggle around more than the average baby.

Saw a video in Biology about crack babies. They have to be kept in the hospital until their dependence on the drug goes away. But does that mean they give the baby small doses of crack? Wouldn't that cause mental problems considering the baby's brain isn't fully developed?

I think they have some other substance that is sort of like crack, but it doesn't damage the baby. Sort of like the drink they have for the smoking addicts.

Take about 10 grams of dried mushrooms or a few hits of quality blotter acid and see how long that theory of "escaping reality" lasts. You'll regret every last and any retarded/evil thing you've ever even plotted to do. God forbid you ever did do something retarded, it will be the most hellish 8 hours of reality you'll ever live.

I hate the whole 'drugs are evil,' thing.. yeah, crack kills, but so does polluted air. Your body is a temple. If YOU want to speed your braincells away on crack cocaine, who's to tell you no? Moralistic assholes with preset agendas and preconcieved ideas of drugs they've never even tried? Do any of you actually know someone who's ever even smoked crack? Shit like this pisses me off.. Neuro, i'm not referring to you at this point anymore.. anyway

/on topic

It's probably best at this point if the fetus was aborted, and i'm not even kidding. Have you ever seen a true crack baby? It's extremely sad. If she's this far up shit creek, i'd definitely hate to see this child when it's born. IF it manages to escape the obvious poison that it's been exposed too, which is a big if, she definitely needs to never see him/her again and let someone responsible raise the child. Even the occasional drink or smoke is totally unacceptable while preggo. Someone willing to sell their unborn child for crack needs to be neutered anyway

As a 'warrior of the know,' part of stopping the spread of misinformation(on your behalf) is to NOT THINK. There's enough bullshit out there on drugs via every government on the face of the earth (seriously, subtract a few, literally every government). If you want to THINK, listen to the American Government's stance on drugs. Only the American Government would give a monkey four times the extreme recreational dosage of Methamphetamine for HUMANS, record the obvious neurological effects, and then say MDMA caused it. Grade-A propaganda for ya.

Now, I may not know alot about many subjects, but when it comes to psychoactive/entheogenic compounds(aka drugs), music, or nature.. I pretty much know my way around the field. The whole thing with cocaine is it's extremely neurotoxic and extremely EXTREMELY psychologically addicting. Now, some people have cocaine withdrawls, but for the most part, physiologically speaking, cocaine isn't too godawful addicting. It does hurt coming off of blow (crack and cocaine are exactly the same, except crack is Cocaine HCL, which is a freebase smokable salt form)... the reason crack is so much more addictive is because of the extremely fast come on(snorting takes a few minutes, smoking is nearly instant), and the extreme hell of the come down. Come downs on crack/cocaine is like dying; your heart is racing at a demonic pace, your mind is racing, you're sweating, you're delerious and extremely paranoid, and most of all, you're FIENDING for more cocaine. The ONLY way to avoid a crack comedown is to smoke more. It's the same with the powder. That one line you swore you'd do that saturday night usually turns into more and more until you've blew a few grams.

Take it from me, I know. I'll ADMIT to using Cocaine, one time. The comedown was enough to break me from ever having an addiction. That, and i'm naturally drawn to downers. Stimulants (cocaine speeds you up, incase you don't know) aren't my cup of tea. I like to chill if inebriation calls my name, not work around in a frenzy.

Cocaine, and all stimulants basically, release extreme amounts of a natural drug in your system called Dopamine. Dopamine is released when you experience great joy. For example, when you have sex dopamine is there. When you're on a rollercoaster, at the top of a hill, just about to drop down that hundred feet.. dopamine is definitely there. If you just pulled that 10% up in biology to a 85%, dopamine is definitely there. Pretty much every sense of joy and natural euphoria is dopamine induced. Cocaine, meth, adderall, ritalin, etc release mass amounts of dopamine, causing euphoria. Stimulants are among the most euphoric compounds known.

The thing with stimulants in general is, however, they release so much dopamine, eventually, naturally dopamine doesn't even function. Eventually, a hardcore tweaker (speed user) won't even feel normal without his fix. It takes MORE AND MORE to get high. Usually, after awhile, being high IS Normal, and when you aren't flying, you aren't feeling too well. This is past the physical withdrawls; with heroin, once you're over the horrible physical withdrawl, you feel normal, subtract cravings. Once you're a tweaker, you're always a tweaker. You ALWAYS feel like cocaine will make you feel better once you've became an addict. You, in a sense, cannot function or feel joy naturally without stimulants once you've developed a relationship with them.

Think i'm lying? I've watched two of my family members and my best friends dad go from normal, occasional marijuana smokers, to tweaked out meth addicts who can't function without it. This ain't no propaganda twist, it's the truth, god take me away if i'm lying.

Crack babies experience this dopamine deficiency. It in a sense halts the brains production for a long while, causing mental retardation and slowness. Literally. Everything, including tylenol, taken while pregnate can have adverse affects. Some of the most horrific known side effects were caused by a once "safe" sleep aid called Thalidomide. Babies were born with no arms, no fingers, no legs, pointed heads, etc.

Now you know the REAL deal with stimulants and why people get this far up shit creek. This woman only felt normal when she was on speed, and it's more than the drugs talking. Stimulant addiction, and addiction in general, is a neurological disease. Anything in excess scrambles your eggs, and all stimulants are notorious for it.

Caffeine is a stimulant.

Alcohol is also notorious for causing neurological damage, especially in unborn fetuses and hardcore alcoholics.

Really, just say know. I'll probably get a warning for this post, but really kids, don't speak bullshit that just isn't true.

And for the record, there's no miracle drink to help you through crack cocaine withdrawls. You can't give babies that young any form of active drugs because, as stated, brains are extremely undeveloped, as well as the rest of their body. Even some tylenol at an early enough age can cause horrific mental and physical defects.

Yeah, I typed all that. Merry Christmas, assholes

...Wow..thats quite amazing...theres no way to answer/reply to a post that large and informing...I am appauled at the thought of someone who is addicted to crack cocaine being pregnant and holding a babies lfe in their hands when they have completly lost control of their own life.....as for drugs, i am not going to give a negative conotation towards cocaine or other drugs or the sort, because thats not something that affects the area where i live and its not something that i personally deal with or know the kind of information one must aquire before spouting off about the ups and downs of drugs and how they affect a persons life...so As a Person who highly respects Intelligence and and people who have thought before they have spoken...i would like to let you know ...xDBD.. you have earned a GREAT deal of respect from me.. you are a very wise and respectable person....
