Few Brushing Tips
#1
By: Karant

Here are a few tips to get a nicely brushed signature.

- Only use same brush once. Or in a way non noticable.

- Only brush once per layer. Yes, this will result in a lot of layers.

- Brush a few layers black, then a few white.

- Use softlight or other blending modes on really dark brushes.

- When adding a color balance do not go CTRL + B. Do Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance.

Or use ctrl+I after each layer and use white all the time.

I do the opposite of everything here.
I brush on the background layer.
I color balance on my brushing.
I do straight black with brushing, with minor opac. changes.

How ironic.

Well, all depends what style you want. Matt's style is great too, so now it's up to you to chose. Big Grin

I go hardcore brushing on the background and the make a new layer and fill it with the color I want. Then I just go and set the layer to Color mode. It's in the blending options. You don't need to do any desaturation or anything. I wish I knew the programming of Photoshop. It does a lot. I wonder how many lines of code it's made of...
